NVIDIA has release the 378.13 stable driver which directly follows on from their work on the 378.09 beta driver.
Highlights
- This new stable driver has the OpenGL threaded optimizations on by default (from the previous beta). However, this will be disabled with Xinerama. It will also "self-disable" when it detects degrading performance.
- The nvidia-settings application will now show configured displays with PRIME.
- It fixes a bunch of bugs as well as adding support for seven more Quadro cards.
- Added support for X.Org xserver ABI 23 (xorg-server 1.19).
You can find the changelog here. You can also see the changelog from the 378.09 beta here which this stable driver includes. You can also download it manually here.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
I think it's pretty sad how vsync has become a lost pinnacle of technology that current developers struggle to once again reach and achieve. Remember 10 years ago when our graphics draws sync'd with the monitor refresh? Pepperidge Farms remembers.
This is an extraordinarily simple feature that doesn't instill confidence in the current driver team.
It's like someone studying for a PHD who forgot all potty training and started shitting themselves during class.

QuoteBy default ALL Opengl Games/Applications disable compositor so you have to FORCE the compositor to stay on.
That is not correct, many older games do not. Openarena for one (at lest the version phoronix-test-suite uses) and digital paint2. Both these games are about 1/4 slower if compositing is enabled.

Then again, in (hopefully less than) 10 years we will wonder why it was ever different from the monitor refresh being sync'd to the graphics draws.

Quoting: GuestI made a forum post about this.
The solution is to create a profile to disable the optimizations that the driver introduces.

Thanks
In my case game dont crash with profile but still in black, sound works without issues

Quoting: GuestWorking fine here ,I just checked it.
The profile is GL Threaded Optimizations and you put in the value 0 then save that as a profile.
Then make a new rule for process ADVGame and use that profile for it.
Don't forget to save it also. Other than that don't know what else to tell you.
In last test works without create profile, only needs add this to launch parameters in steam
