Why am I not surprised? The developers of Project Cars 2 said the game would be coming out for SteamOS, but they are being silent on it. The same happened with the original.
They have now released a trailer of Project Cars 2:
Notice at the end, that they only list console and Windows icons. Their website does list SteamOS very clearly as a release platform.
I asked on Twitter and also emailed the developers directly a few days ago a question of what's going on. I know they got my email as I got their "we got your email" auto response, but I've had no reply after giving them more than enough time to respond.
This really grinds my gears up, since when I spoke to them on Twitter about the original they said they had no plans, despite me linking to them where they said they did.
I'm starting to think they never meant to say SteamOS and it was some sort of copy and paste fail from the original game page.
Thankfully, we do have DiRT Rally to look forward to from Feral Interactive.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: bubexelIt's correct to pay for a product that you don't have any kind of guarrantee or support?
If it was a question then yes, it is correct to pay for a product you are using if its owners demand a fee for the usage. Regardless of the circumstances, period.
Quoting: bubexelwhy you should pay to play a game that maybe crash time to time and maybe won't load second level or get stuck in any place? I won't pay for any windows game to be used on wine.
If you started to use the product it means you have confirmed your acceptance of the terms of use. Have any complaints? Then do not use the product. It is as simple as this. If you are OK with WINE then it is your headache if the game does not run as the developers stated clearly in the system requirements: Windows is required.
Want to be sure? Purchase and install Windows (it is not that expensive at all) and start enjoying the game without any graphical and I/O glitches.
Still dissatisfied with the setup? That's understandable. Two options:
1) Try to convince the developers that they are losing customers (you being case in point) by not having Linux version;
2) Failing that, screw them and move to another project, which has Linux version. Those guys are deserving your money, time and appreciation more.

Even without Linux support, they list a continuous internet connection as a requirement so that is the final nail in the coffin. Waiting for Dirt Rally.

Quoting: GuestYou're right, this wording was addressed to the Business and CEOs alike. Of course I do appreciate the work the devs put unofficially into Linux.Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTNowadays we just don't need ignorant publishers anymore? So: Come one, FUCK YOU Blizzard, FUCK YOU EA, FUCK YOU Bethesda.... The list could go one forever.I wouldn't put the whole of Blizzard on that list, their devs have been known to fix issues with their games using WINE.
It's the corporate part of Blizzard that deserves a big "fuck you", and that would be Activision and any CEO :D
There we also rumours in the past that a WOW Linux Client existed, but only for the purpose of internal testing.
I'm happy to change my mind any time they would start to port their library to Linux. I already signed petitions for them to do. Luckily those times are left behind: Take my money if you have well-made Linux ports, otherwise I just don't care anymore.

Quoting: bubexelQuoteThat's illegal. Please, refrain from doing this. We do not want to cement our reputation as thieving beggars not capable of paying for Windows.

STOP. PROMOTING. PIRACY!
How fucking hard is that to understand?

Wow, what a surprise. The developer's are lie again, so no Bucks from me. I will boycott the developer's and the lie Studio again.

Quoting: KeyrockI gave up on anything from these folks a long time ago. Neither the promised WiiU nor Linux versions of PC1 ever came out, don't hold your breath on a Linux version of PC2, it ain't gonna happen.I agree, it's unlikely to happen though we should put this question to their Creative Director who might provide an official answer this weekend (Sunday):

If we all ask it might finally receive the attention it deserves, especially after the original Project CARS fiasco.

I don't want to, but it's also very important that we make it known that we don't like this, every time it pops up.
