Croteam has stated on their forum that Serious Sam 3: BFE [Steam] running on their new Fusion engine which uses Vulkan could arrive in public Beta as early as next month.

From their forum post:
Quote[..]There are no official deadlines, but my hope is that Fusion version of SS3 would enter public beta in the next month or so.

For those that don't remember, Croteam are updating all of the Serious Sam games to their new "Fusion" game engine. This newer game engine will be using Vulkan and it sounds like a big win for Linux, as all the Serious Sam games will support Linux thanks to this.

GOG zealots are on their run again.

What's your problem with asking developers to stop ignoring Linux users who don't use Steam? If you don't have this issue because you aren't excluded, why are you upset that others bring it up? Reminds me how some Windows users are upset that Linux users ask developers to release games for Linux. Exclusivity is bad, you should know better.

What?I'm against Gog, not Steam and Itch.io.

I prefer Itch.io to Gog,which they care about Linux.

Ohh,i almost forgot.Gog has it's client for Windows and Mac(they're beta but available)but not for Linux.

They care about a fly much more than they care about Linux. So that's my reason.

Long live Steam and Itch.io!!!

You are apparently against asking developers to release on GOG. I find it wrong and inappropriate. How would you feel if someone will say next time, that developers shouldn't release on Steam, because someone is against it? I.e. that would exclude you. I doubt you'll appreciate that.

No,i'm not.I'm against to tell and some way force the developers (who also tell that two platform thing is a little bit hard, there are links above) bring their games to a platform like Gog which is Linux not welcomed. This is like, trying to buy an item from a salesman who shouts you to 'Fuck off,get off my sight!' and you're okay with it.

I'm not okay with it.Which is why i only buy from Steam and Itch.io.

Since Croteam games aren't found on itch.io either, you are for excluding non Steam users in general. As I said, I find it inappropriate and quite surprised such attitudes are found among Linux users.

Is Fusion the engine Talos Principle uses?

I'm excited to see more games coming to Vulkan this year. I'm going to make an educated guess and say that by the end of the year most games will start to be released using Vulkan due to things like this and the fact that the upcoming release of Unity will have the option to use Vulkan. :)

If they can and they want to come Itch.io,i will be happy about it.

As i see,you have a specific fetish with Gog.Also this Che Guevera guy too.Which i'm so curious, what cause that?

I use GOG primarily because they do more than anyone else to advance DRM-free gaming.

Seems to me that a huge reason not to like GOG is that their owners never gave us Witcher (1 or 3). Personally I use Steam because of the workshop (makes managing / downloading mods easy!), plus I have an HTC Vive, plus steam controllers, Link, etc. Pretty much I am now Valve's bitch. But that okay by me. Makes managing the game library REALLY easy.

GOG doesn't even give us auto updates, which with any of the modern games is more or less required. Now if they had GOG Galaxy for Linux, it would do the updates for us.

I use GOG primarily because they do more than anyone else to advance DRM-free gaming.

I always thought Torrent sites and cracks did more! ;)

Not in the way of putting some common sense in the thick-skulled heads of legacy publishers. Who besides GOG works to revert their bad practices?

Simple. When I buy a game DRMFREE on GOG, that game is mine and, once I download the install files, I own it forever; I don't need to request online permision for to install and play MY GAMES... And that is because GOG trust me and that is why I trust them.

Can you install an Steam game from a local backup without an internet connection?
No. Steam IS DRM and the fact that you need online permision for to install a game from a local backup, is evidence that you are not the owner of your games...

The only DRM that I happily accept is EA Origin on my Windows 7 machine, because for the 5 U$D per month of EA ACCESS I can play a lot of big EA games for FREE through EA VAULT... VALVe seriously MUST take note about that...

And yeah, I would like to see an interview to the people at Croteam explaining why they put DRM in their Linux games.

I think you have a wrong idea of what steam really is...and yes you can backup your steam games , and can run them any time you want even offline.
Steam creates a folder called SteamLibrary and on this folder are all your games, just backup that folder and you can have your games anywhere, even on an external hard disk. When you want to format your pc or install steam again you just point your location of your steam library , simple as that and you can play all your game offline(excluded games that require online connection)
Also if I dont have the game already installed or something happened with my PC and lost the game and my saved game data I just click on my library to install the game and by some kind of "miracle" my saved games are there as well since the game supports steam cloud :P

Well I dont have time to analyse to you how steam works since I have to go to work.... but you are missing a lot of things like for example games that are not on GOG. Look we are not going to live forever so enjoy your life while you can, play as many games you can DRM or NOT DRM enjoy life and so on...:)

you reminded me a man that wanted to have sex with a pretty girl and I bring him a very pretty girl 9.5/10 and then he says to me. if she is not a virgin I am not gonna have sex with her....

Be free to enjoy everything in your life, dont put restrictions to yourself :P

I never tried it, but this has even be reported for some Feral port where the Windows version uses Denuvo.

Steamworks too much. That happens for multiplayer games indeed, which rely on Steamworks servers infrastructure. But for single player games this doesn't apply.

ALL Serious Sam are multiplayer. Even The Talos Principle has some multiplayer functionality (you can read messages on the walls created by your friends). So, if you want a singleplayer game from Croteam on GOG, they can publish... Football Glory.

GOG zealots are on their run again.

(...)That's the GOG view people.

A hypothesis: Shmerl is a Pole and GoG is Polish, wrong vision of patriotism is the culprit for all these posts.

Meanwhile I am a Pole too, and I don't know why a Croatian company should lose money to help a Polish digital distribution platform.

Actually,i don't care about nationality.

I just can't get this passion about a platform which obviously didn't care Linux a bit.

So you want drm free?Go for Itch.io,why especially GOG?

Not in the way of putting some common sense in the thick-skulled heads of legacy publishers. Who besides GOG works to revert their bad practices?

Actually,Gog and Cdpr are also thick-skulled.

Let me give an example to you.

I'm Turkish and you know that Witcher3 is also popular in our country just like whole world.

At the release of game,Witcher3 didn't have a Turkish localization.Which causes too many people to stay away from game at the first sight until a patch(user made) or a localization implementation(official) comes.

But it didn't seem to be happen nearly. So a handful of young students who also love this game, starts to translation. They've put up betas first, they did corrections from feedbacks. It was flawless. In the meantime, they were all in contact with Cdpr.Cdpr is saying them, they will look at it and they will consider it.They said without a notification that game will support Turkish in the future or not,or not a notification.

Meanwhile, people started to buy Witcher because there was a patch for language and it was beautiful. These whole start from beta to full release thing took 8 months nearly. They've also started to work on Blood&Wine and it was nearly over.

After 4 or 5 months, which they all hoped that guys efforts will be rewarded by becoming official implemantation of Turkish locale. They just did volunteerly, they didn't ask a single penny, they also didn't accept donation offers.

And then Cdpr suddenly announced the game will have support for Turkish, but the thing is they hired some other localization group for do this.

Actually, they could be say that we will have a translation but by another team.So this guys efforts are worth for nothing.By the way, there are people out there who still use their translation.

So the thing is,Cdpr looked at sales and they saw increasing charts.Suddenly, they decided to implement localization. They didn't inform this poor guys about other group and they just keep them on stand-by.So,their precious time is gone for nothing.

So my friend, that's how Gog sees the things. All of a sale, nothing more. And that's why they support Mac on their titles, because they think Mac market is worth to be in it.

If you don't believe me,you can ask your friends at Gog or Cdpr.

Gog or Cdpr are not the fairiest being of the market. If you look for them, you can look for Feral Interactive.

I notice quite often that Game Comment Threads seem to get subverted into threads arguing about Steam or GOG or itch.io or completely unrelated material.

Please could commenting about these non-Game things go into a separate Forum post or Article.

Can't wait to play this again, the GTX1060 I bought this afternoon is just itching to be tested on this!
I ordered mine yesterday... I hope, once I hold it in my hands, it is as well itchy for the vulkan renderer

Hmm,but you also liked Gog praisers comments didn't you?I'm saying that because you literally liked them by pressing button which is visible when we hit Who? button.

You should be on no one's side to point that fact out i guess.
