Shadow of War has been officially announced as a sequel to Shadow of Mordor. Hopefully Feral Interactive will grab the porting rights again here, as Shadow of Mordor was fantastic.

Will keep my ear close to the ground on this one and keep you informed of any Linux push with it.
As a huge Lord of the Rings fan, I am extremely excited by it. I will still stick to my guns and say "no tux no bux", but for any other LotR fan this will be exciting news.
Considering Feral ported the original, they may still have good contacts to do this one too. This might be a good time to ask Feral to port it and what a coincidence, they just today asked for requests:
#THEREQUESTINATOR IS ON. Input your Mac, Linux or mobile game request and its chances will increase by exactly 13.37%. BZZT-BLIP. BING! pic.twitter.com/lhMnMYdoL2

Here's to hoping eh?
If the Linux version is not available on day 1, I'll pass.... Or maybe I will buy it for my Windows machine.
I prefer an internal Linux version made by Monolith, like 4AGames did with Metro Last Light and the two Metro Redux, instead a third party port.
Personally I could probably live quite well without it if the choice was to have limited resources port this or something actually fun gameplay wise. On the other hand more AAA is still welcome for the platform ... .
Tough call but given we have quite a selection of games available by now I would rather see third party porters concentrate on quality titles instead of mass produced blockbusters. The big names with their yearly reincarnation of one and the same game should be able to press the export to Linux button themselves if they can do so for every other platform on the planet.
Other games I've liked recently enough to get huge amounts of hours in Steam (anything over 30 is a lot for me, I like to try out a lot of games and rarely have the patience to keep on playing the same game forever). Tomb Raider was one such game, the first game I ever 100% (although I don't have all the achievements)-
Unfortunately I bought both games when I was still gaming on Windows, around 2013-2014. I changed to Linux when Windows 10 was released (I used it a day and decided that eff it, and what I've seen myself at work and read and hear, I made the right choice).
I've contributed to Linux ports though: The odd one out here is Rocket League which I started playing at work on a PS4, and I instantly bought it when the Linux beta was released. That game (the only non-singleplayer game I have played as much since my teenage Quake2 summer of binge - I probably clocked nearly 1000 hours just during the few months of the summer vacation) is so awesome!
And yeah, Mad Max. That I bought for Linux as well. Very nice. I have more hours on it than Shadow of Mordor.
So definitely. For me, games like Mad Max, Shadow of Mordor, Tomb Raider etc. fit like a glove. I feel they have a good story, awesome game mechanics (they are fun to play even if you do repetitive tasks), lot's of stuff to do and collect - and the stuff usually has some reason to be there, game-world wise, even though they usually are tacked on just for the sake of having collectables.
If Shadow of War is anything like those, gimme gimme gimme!
BTW. Is it just me, or did they change Talion's face in the Shadow of War trailer?
Quoting: Ads20000Am I understanding this right? These guys port other companies' games to Mac and Linux with their permission?
Feral? Yes. They are buying the right to port the game, get the source (and hopefully some support) and then publish these versions for own account (I hope my translation website is right on the last one: they have all expenses and get all the money). Feral is the main publisher of big games on Linux.

Quoting: Geppeto35Steam says that I spent 81h of my life on Shadow of Mordor on Gnu/Linux. Directly bought on Feral store. For sure, I will day-one-on-linux-release buy the sequel Shadow of war if Feral ports it.
