Shadow of War has been officially announced as a sequel to Shadow of Mordor. Hopefully Feral Interactive will grab the porting rights again here, as Shadow of Mordor was fantastic.

Will keep my ear close to the ground on this one and keep you informed of any Linux push with it.

As a huge Lord of the Rings fan, I am extremely excited by it. I will still stick to my guns and say "no tux no bux", but for any other LotR fan this will be exciting news.

Considering Feral ported the original, they may still have good contacts to do this one too. This might be a good time to ask Feral to port it and what a coincidence, they just today asked for requests:

#THEREQUESTINATOR IS ON. Input your Mac, Linux or mobile game request and its chances will increase by exactly 13.37%. BZZT-BLIP. BING! pic.twitter.com/lhMnMYdoL2

I didn't really like the first game. I hated the cut scenes with the bosses speaking that halted the combat. And there are many other games where I can have a lot more fun with the combat.

I do hope that the game comes to Linux though, for those who want to play it and to better the Linux gaming platform.

It could feel boring and repetitive over time, but not to me! Somehow, I enjoyed the first game and its visuals a lot. Being able to play it on Linux has been a great benefit too. I very much hope I could say the very same thing about the sequel. Please!

None of the games I'm thinking about are hidden gems. The games where I enjoy the combat most are Baldur's Gate II, Pillars of Eternity, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Guild Wars 2, The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3.

That is the question. My most played game on Steam happens to be Mad Max at ~90h and I cannot imagine investing much more than that on a single game. I'm sure some online games take a lot more time and dedication, which is probably one reason I never properly got into any of them.

Ha, I think I have tons of hours in Star Trek: Online, but only because I launched it under Wine, then left the launcher running for days and forgot it was going.

Feral? Yes. They are buying the right to port the game, get the source (and hopefully some support) and then publish these versions for own account (I hope my translation website is right on the last one: they have all expenses and get all the money). Feral is the main publisher of big games on Linux.

That's awesome!
