The Early Access release of Heavy Gear Assault [Steam] came and went and they had quite a number of issues with the Linux version, but they have made serious attempts to fix it.

They emailed in and spoke to me on Twitter and they confirmed Linux is a "high priority now". They also said in a public update "Supporting Linux and the Linux community is one of our top concerns.".

This makes me really like them, as they have been really open and great at communication all the way through development. They've since done a few patches which has really improved Linux support in Heavy Gear Assault!

I can confirm everything now works as expected for me and all the previous bugs I saw are completely gone, so be sure to take a look at it, as it looks like they've done a good job polishing it up.

Just something to note: The game is online-only right now and the player base is small, but hopefully that will increase as the game becomes more accessible. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Yes - I report quite a lot of issues to developers, and up until now all have been solved with updates / beta-branches :).

I need to give this a little more testing time, though. have not yet had the chance to test this properly - or to play with graphical settings and such.

Is there a special process developers have to undergo to get their games servers to appear in the steam clients server browser?

I think a lot of these indie games that struggle to get a decent multiplayer base going would really benefit from that since people could check servers without having to start the game up all the time to see when people are playing.
