The 'Humble Freedom Bundle' has launched and with it, tons of stuff. A large majority of it is available on Linux too.

The bundle will cost you $30, but the entire of it goes to charity and Humble themselves will match the total up to a max of $300K themselves. That's a pretty fantastic deal considering separately these games altogether would cost quite a bit. The charities this time are ACLU, the IRC, and MSF.

Games that support Linux:
- Stardew Valley
- Day of the Tentacle Remastered
- Overgrowth (Early Access)
- Nuclear Throne
- Octodad: Dadliest Catch
- Invisible, Inc.
- Super Meat Boy
- World of Goo
- Mushroom 11
- No Time to Explain Remastered
- The Stanley Parable
- Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP
- Super Hexagon
- VVVVVV
- The Swapper
- Spirits
- Human Resource Machine
- ROCKETSROCKETSROCKETS
- 2064: Read Only Memories
- A Virus Named TOM
- Mini Metro
- Tower of Guns
- Waking Mars
- Monster Loves You! (doesn't have Linux icon, but it does have a Linux version on Steam)
- AI War: Fleet Command
- Sproggiwood
- Hot Tin Roof: The Cat That Wore A Fedora Deluxe
- Secrets of Rætikon
- Girls Like Robots
- Ellipsis
- Ninja Pizza Girl (has no OS icons, but Steam says it has a Linux version)
- Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball

It also includes some audiobooks and ebooks as well! On top of that, they may be adding more as the bundle goes on.

Personally, I think that's an insanely great list of Linux games. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: buenaventuraWow, what a bundle, I already have many of the games, but still. I highly recommend Thirty Flights of Loving - it works perfect with wine.

Edit: I always get surprised that Trump and right wing idiots in general actually exist in reality, but then I stumble upon them in my own backyard, it's frightening. Oh, and that they won the election. What can you say? "Money laundering", OK.

Yeah, the idiots won the election, and they are going to keep winning as long as you don't threat people with different opinions with respect. Biggot.

Quoting: GuestI'm not giving money to charities anymore, a lot of them are just first world puppets supporting imperialism.

If i want a game i want to pay the developers, if i want to be hypocritical and think i'm a good person by giving money to charities i can donate directly, but not for games.

Sure. When "Médecins Sans Frontières" stepped in to help in the Ebola crisis in West Africa they did this on behalf of some imperialist agenda...

So I should treat white supremacists, islamists, racists, sexists with "respect", because you know, they just have "different opinions". Interesting approach. Particularly since those I'm supposed to treat with respect show not the slightest of respect for people not fitting into their mindset.

Quoting: xaviMaybe I'm confused but seeing the Top Contributors, there are 500$ contributors and a 3000$ contributor... aren't we collaborating to money laundering of ACLU?

I explain a bit better my comment:

What I mean is... if I collaborate in the bundle, of course I will put the money on MSF. But lots of people from the government will use the bundle to money laundering sending "white money" to ACLU. So, individually, most of us will help MSF and this is really good thing, but the whole platform can be used to wash money related to political campaigns.

I live in Spain, here lots of people from government received 2*500 euros (black money) in exchange for donating 1000 euros. You can translate this news:

That's an interesting scheme, though in that case those were donations to a political party, if I read it correctly? I don't know anything about the ACLU, though, so it might be comparable. Edit: I did my homework, so I will strike that. I'm however not implying that the @xavi is right about that; just that there seems to be a political connotation to the ACLU. In a country that's not mine, furthermore; and I dislike the idea of involving myself in abroad politics.

At least you included islamists in your list and not islamophobics, I give you that. Anyway, there is a difference between that list and "right wing idiots in general", don't try to sugarcoat it now.

Edit: oh I confused you with the other guy. My point stand, there is a difference between that list and "right wing idiots in general"

Back on topic:

I have about 40-50% of these games, and, being on a fixed income, I really shouldn't (given my budget and the games I already bought this month) buy it :'( . Oh well. I could have gifted them, but it's just not to be. :(

Sorry, I am not looking for a discussion or anything. I think it is an awesome bundle, and I highly recommend Thirty Flights of Loving to my linux friends, it works very well with wine, well worth the time and money IMO!

Quoting: Guest1- That's just propaganda from imperialist agenda. Sources are yihadists, KSA and Qatar, etc..
[snip]
2- Aleppo has been sieged for years, but this charities only care when the "siege" comes by the "evil" government, because they only defend Al-Nusra and that goatfuckers.

And i only searched for 1 minute, i can find more shit on the internet, MSF is just imperialistic shit.

And you are one kind of a troll. Liam, I'm done here (at least with this "discussion").

Since I already own Overgrowth and Day of the tentacle, the one Im interested is The witness. But since I can get it cheaper on a sale, I guess than I will skip this.
For people now owning the games, this is a great deal.

Quoting: Pozzuoli
Quoting: Whitewolfe80Still confused as to how the a charity that distributes food for failed countries that cannot or will not support its people imperialist but hey to each his own. (in case you're wondering Imperial countries do the opposite of that)
I was going to keep out of this thread, because I think some charities are definitely worthwhile. (And it's getting a little OT.) However, this statement is very wrong. There are many different ways that charities can perpetuate imperialism. The most obvious ways are those that give goods in exchange for something, e.g. oil, deals, Christianity. The other way is what you imply… by the direct donation of goods. Many "charities" rely on over-production of local goods to flood the market. For example, a company (or government) might have a glut of wheat, T-shirts, etc. for whatever reason. These are then "donated" to developing nations. It's a tax write-off for the company. And the receiving country gets a glut of goods that floods their market, driving down prices of locally-produced goods, and killing the local industry. The developing country is then reliant on donations for the future… making it a subject of the "charity".

OTOH "good" charities (e.g. Oxfam) often have an exit strategy. They have an aim to set up sustainable industries in the country. Similarly, as citizens, it's often best to donate cash rather than tin cans, clothes, etc.

Mmm i see where you are coming from but I completely disagree with you. Looking at Humble bundle the main charity they are donating too is Medicine sans frontiers (doctors without borders) these are volunteer doctors who put themselves in harms way to try to help as many people as possible. The donations pay for medication food and blankets. We could argue how the people came to need those services all day but it hardly relates to gaming.

Woops, I screwed hard on this one. I wanted to get back home and use my Linux PC to redeem the keys (Linux purchase and such), then realized that games that I wanted were gone from the bundle (No time to explain and nuclear throne -- maybe subnautica if I have a vive in the future and it get ported to Linux. Strike that. Every game I missed. I'm up for a trade with someone else on these (against key from other bundles I might not have redeemed)).
But what's heartbreaking is that, as I rushed to press purchase (greedy reflexes), I forgot to customize my split :/

Don't do the same mistake as me, but be aware that their steam keys seem to be in limited supplies. I don't know what it means for the game that "may" come soon.
CFWhitman Feb 14, 2017
Games that 'may come soon' are possible because developers could add more games to the charity effort. Of course, the further along it gets, the less likely this probably becomes (unless there is some developer looking for donating some but not too much that doesn't want to use the limited copies approach).

Hi, Subnautica and Super Meat Boy are 'gone', but Nuclear Throne and the rest are still there. Super Meat Boy is often on sale, so you can pick that up cheaper some other time. Grab the bundle now ;)
