The official GamingOnLinux ARK: Survival Evolved server is live

Anyone who is found griefing will be banned of course, like with GOL, it's designed to be a good community of gamers. That said, playful PvP is obviously allowed.

Too bad. I'm playing Conan Exiles atm.

its not out for Linux. If it will ever be.
Looks good though, hopefully it will be released to linux at some day also and hopefully they make use of vulkan by then.

I don't think I will ever take a "hard ball" stance on Linux gaming. I support Linux games I want, but I'm not going to stop myself from playing a game just cause it doesn't have a Linux port.

Honestly, this is the first time I've properly tried to play it and it's surprisingly easy to get to grips with.

I played it once, spawned as a female, was attacked by a group yelling "rape her, rape her, rape her", and was killed. I exited the game and returned it for a refund.

That's the problem with public servers, you get assholes. This is a private server remember.

Ya public servers are terrible. I never play on them. Ran into a few people already on this server and everyone has been nice. This is going to be great fun! I am building a base for looks not defence since I am sure this server will not be filled with greifers.

PVP is now enabled.

I have also turned off bringing a character from another server, as it's not fair on new people.

We will setup some events to get people going to it :)

Our ARK server will be down for 1 hour between 5PM UTC and 6PM UTC today. Will happened every two weeks for scheduled maintenance.

Edit: They seem to be running a little over time, should be back soon.

Enter key brings up the text global chat for me.

Server is coming back online, as the 2-weekly maintenance has been completed.

Edit: I will be looking to make a server page to list stuff like this, but make sure you follow our Twitter to keep updated on quick stuff.

I just want to say, I am having a fantastic time on the server. The multipliers work for me the way they stand right now as compared to stock(I think the V-Day multiplier is adding to that...). No other players have come over and jumped all over my stuff as I try to build. No bullshit, "you can't do this or that, but you can die because here we tromp all over you for no reason, haha don't be salty, git gud".

I actually like ARK now.

Even despite a few rage quits I have admittedly done as I over-extended my skill level and had to partially rebuild.

If my stuff gets stepped on now, I really COULD accept that. At least I was given some time to complete some objectives.


This, and the live streams (I like playing RL on that sometimes), and all the other Linux Gaming news you provide.

Sin has adjusted the difficulty level, dino's can now go up to level 150 as it was becoming too easy.

The taming multiplier has also gone from 3x to 5x as it was still taking far too long.
