Friday Livestream with Samsai at 6 PM UTC!

By -
Friday arrives and brings us yet another chance to show our incompetence when it comes to gaming! Yes, the Friday Livestream is here once more to bring you live Linux gaming and the commentary that goes with it, so get your snacks and tune your Internet connection!

Livestream here: http://www.twitch.tv/gamingonlinux

We did have some new releases this week that were interesting but sadly only one made it in this time around. Since ARMA: Cold War Assault has generated some buzz on the site, I figured I'd capitalize on that and play some during the stream. I haven't started the campaign yet so I have no idea how it will go, but I will try, god dammit. The inspiration for the second game of the evening actually came from a youtuber I watch called ManyATrueNerd who happened to play an indie survival game called Raft which also happens to have a Linux version. So, we will quickly check that out as well, though we probably won't play for particularly long, so we might play some Clustertruck after that. And, like previously, we will wrap things up with more Undertale. Oh, and since the Linux Game Jam 2017 is going on I will probably show my creation at some point as well.

Hopefully everyone has had a fine week and hopefully you weekend shall also be excellent. See you on the stream! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I'm a Linux gamer from Finland. I like reading, long walks on the beach, dying repeatedly in roguelikes and ripping and tearing in FPS games. I also sometimes write code and sometimes that includes hobbyist game development.

Reason to take a late lunch :) if it's the Raft from itch then your source is correct -- probably a top 5 Linux game on itch IMO.

Isn't Raft the game where the developers have stopped any future Linux updates: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/the-interesting-survival-game-raft-has-dropped-linux-support.8966 or have they changed their minds? As looking at itch.io Raft is behind a version for Linux atm.

I didn't know that. : \

Actually, the last itch app update wiped out my library. I didn't want to submit another bug until they fix my critical one. (and I'm not going to restore a backup just for that..)

I haven't gone through and reinstalled -- I did try the PC? builder that everyone was raving about. Interesting concept, but it made my i7 smoke, which was kinda weird. I think it's sort of still alpha build at this stage, but he has a **lot** of supporters so I'm sure it will be nice by 1.0.
