Back in January Beamdog was looking for testers on a new game. Now the Planescape website has a countdown timer. It's legitimate too, as tweeted by the Beamdog and the D&D twitter accounts.

In the page source from the official site, is this:
div class="clock" style="width: 620px;" secret="0x50 0x53 0x54 0x45 0x45"
Notice the hex there? That translates to PSTEE.

So it's more than likely we will see another remaster from Beamdog with Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition. It should see Linux support like their previous remasters of Baldur's Gate, especially since they specifically mentioned Linux in their call for beta testers.

We will know soon enough, with the countdown having less than 2 days on it.

Thanks for the tip AnachronyX. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Finally...

I think I might grab this just for nostalgia and I enjoyed this more-so than BG because of the unique story and world of Planescape: Torment.

although I'd really like to see something new for a change, Spelljammer is probably one of the most exciting yet is never touched.

Good. I really hope it will be 64-bit. It's pretty annoying that all previous Beamdog games are 32-bit, and they all suffer from the infamous "no LFS support" bug.

Please, comment here if you care: https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/63906/please-make-upcoming-planescape-torment-ee-64-bit-on-linux

This is exciting news for me who is one of the guys that has always wanted to try Planescape Torment but never had the chance. Especially now that it should have a Linux version so it is a good idea to support them.

I have the Steam version of BG:EE. Is there any way to test this bug without having a large HDD?

This bug happens on XFS on partitions around 2TB. The edge size is somewhat lower, but for sure on 2 and above. Not sure how else you can test it.

Reported it here: http://redmine.beamdog.com/issues/29687

GoG has had a Linux version of Planescape Torment for some time. It's a Wine wrapper, but it works perfectly.

Yeah, I saw this link on the forum post. I was interested in reproducing it for the bug report to get more attention from the devs. I think I will post a reply there anyway.

Your mileage may vary as they say, but I definitely wouldn't call that perfectly. It's been a while but when I tried it it was pretty bad with the game taking over the entire desktop preventing alt+tabbing or something along those lines. Playing P:T using GemRB is much, much better if you ask me (which you can still do using your GOG copy of course). But hopefully this upcoming release will make all this moot regardless.

Fantastic! I´ve been waiting for the enhanced edition of "Icewind Dale" for a long time now (and keeping my fingers crossed for IWDII as well) but I didn´t dare to hope for "Torment".

The new "Beamdog Client" sounds interesting as well:

"Sharp eyed users will notice the new Beamdog Client supports products on Mac (we’ve specifically designed it to work well with Sierra) and Linux. Though Linux users will see an empty list where games should be, perhaps that’s a sign of things to come in the future. ;)

I never even had heard about Planescape: Torment until 2016. I wonder if I should fetch it. Heard great things.

YAY HOW AWESOME! I've been waiting for this. Too bad it will probably be quite expensive -_____-

They already have [Icewind Dale: EE on gog](https://www.gog.com/game/icewind_dale_enhanced_edition), I got it in a sale a while back and I just love they way there are NO loadingtimes, nada, everything is just great. The writing in that game is not superb though, I bought it for nostalgia. I played ID more than Baldurs Gate when I was a kid.

If you like cRPGs, then absolutely yes. It has a great story, though the GUI could have been better.

I just hope Beamdog keep themselves to making the enhanced addition without having to add extra NPCs and stuff. In general, their stuff is absolutely awful, as seen in the 2 enhanced BG games they made.

I think Neera in BG1:EE is awesome ^___^

Neera is OK, it's the other NPCs I hate. Some of them are really cringe-worthy...

Never managed to get the PS:T widesceen (or indeed, any) mod installed under wine, so agree with it not being perfect.

Back to EEPS:T, will wait and see since I don't really trust beamdog to not mess it up in the content department.

For role players, it's arguably the best cRPG ever made. I say "for role players" because it has some shortcomings as a video game, but it is an outstanding RPG.

Well, "it works perfectly" in the sense that it runs without any slowdowns, crashes, etc.

Couldn't you technically install it with GOG installer and then load the files into GemRB ?
