I wrote about Man O' War: Corsair - Warhammer Naval Battles [Steam, GOG] coming to Linux in September last year, but with no release yet I poked the developer for more info and the reply was better than I expected.

Awesome stuff! Considering the positive ratings and feedback the game has been getting, it certainly looks like something I want to play.

Don't want to put a downer on this but what OS does the Steam box they were using have installed? I seem to remember most are Windows based & not acutally SteamOS.

Pity that Vermintide or Eternal Crusade are not available on Linux/SteamOS. Hoping to see Dawn of War 3 ported.
(yes, I love both Warhammer Fantasy and WH40k)

My question was specifically about Linux/SteamOS, I highly doubt they glossed over that fact, considering it's already available for Windows.True, but they could have been playing it on a Windows based Steam box, which all they said was playing it on a Steam Box, hopefully I'm wrong & they confirm you're right.

This game is a lot like Sid Meier's Pirates! or Sea Dogs, so I'd definitely like to play it :)

I'm sure they meant a Steam Machine. Valve has control over what can be sold as a Steam Machine. Those are all sold with SteamOS, and as another example of the control Valve have they've commented that they rejected some hardware vendor's plans to include optical drives. Some of that hardware is also sold with Windows, but Valve isn't involved and it has to be rebranded.

Oh. My. God. I was watching the trailer and in the game, it looked like people with shields were moving like they intended to actually use the shields to block with! No, really, shield forward protecting the body, sword arm back where it isn't vulnerable, generally not looking like Hollywood prats!
I feel like buying the game just for that.
