The latest and greatest Mesa release 17.1 is due for release on May 5th, so not long for everything to get polished up.
The current schedule is as follows:
- Apr 14 2017 - Feature freeze/Release candidate 1
- Apr 21 2017 - Release candidate 2
- Apr 28 2017 - Release candidate 3
- May 05 2017 - Release candidate 4/final release
The Mesa developers are still working out what will make it in and what should be left out.

Looking forward to getting an AMD GPU sometime possibly towards the end of next year, by then Mesa is going to be seriously awesome. It's already come on leaps and bounds compared with a year or two ago it's really quite incredible. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

It's looking to be an exciting year in Linux for an AMD fan like myself. A new cpu architecture and amdgpu open source graphics drivers getting better and better? Consider me stoked. :D

Barring the fab that makes the parts burning down, mine will (Ryzen + Vega).
Amazing isn't it: moved to Linux a few years ago, wouldn't touch an AMD card (I actually had one and the support was so bad I grabbed a GTX670 after a couple of months) - now I can't see myself buying another NVidia card again...

Atm I am gonna stick with an NVIDIA 1080Ti and with a Ryzen CPU :D

Even when AMD releases a new gpu is not gonna much 1080Ti.
(rumors saying that is gonna be equal to the range 1070-1080MAX)

I'll probably buy Sapphire Vega, once it comes out. Should be enough to play TW3 in Wine on high settings.

Well, my rig has gone completely red (it even has red RGB lighting) after my purchase of the Ryzen 7 1700. So far I'm quite happy with my redness.

Once Vega is out then I will look at moving back but for now I am waiting for my Ryzen stuff to turn up. I am waiting on the motherboard so when its all in stock it will be shipped, hopefully tomorrow.
As long as the driver stack is performing near to Nvidia and the Vega linup offers a big enough boost over my GTX1070 then I will bite the bullet and change to AMD for the GFX card also. So far its looking quiet promising.
