Space Jammers [itch.io, Steam], a game I covered before after being impressed by the early free demo is has continued development and has now had a rather quiet Steam release.

It has procedural level generation, varied enemies and characters to choose from, a level up system to pick various abilities and it even has local co-op for up to 4 players too, so bring along some friends for the action.

It does seem to have some really weird default mouse behaviour. When you go near the edge of the screen it jumps your view out and it makes it really unwieldy to use the mouse. I suggest going into the options and disabling the auto zoom option for a much smoother experience.

It has some utterly bizarre weapons! I picked up some sort of unicorn which fired electric bolts in multiple directions, it has what are essentially lightsabers and more.

One to check out for sure. It looks good, the gameplay is fun and frantic, has a wide assortment of enemies and areas to battle through and it's just properly good fun.

About the game
A 1-4 player Sci-Fi rogue-ish top-down shooter. Guide an alien rock band of space kitten pirates through a fractured multi-verse. Fly starfighters, board space ships and loot local populations to fund your musical tour. Fight or sneak through dangerous space time with randomly generated weapons or upgrade unique skills to deal with randomly generated bosses. Navigate your tiny band of aliens to the center of the galaxy in time to compete in the Galactic Battle of Bands and become kings of Rock. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.
