It would be nice if I got a steam surrey I have not got one in months. I have not got one on my daughters computer on steam either.

I have also not received a single steam hardware survey since I have migrated to Linux only. And I have installed Steam for Linux quite a few times...

"Real gaming" can be anything. Linux has plenty of high quality games now.

I own a PS4 because the girlfriend purchased one at release and I picked up mine a good while before Linux gaming got serious. My PS4 has become nothing more than a Netflix box. I own a Switch again, due to family, but sure I'm gonna play it since we have it.

I do not own a console system I have been using Linux for 9 years and playing on Linux for almost the same amount. The steam survey is not right and I wish publishers would not look at the survey as being 100% right. I personally do not have a reason to not play my games on Linux (my computer).

Real gaming:Don't need to wait for ports,getting access to AAA games via in house ports and at the first day,don't have to worry about port qualities,not try to be considering as a viable platform instead of becoming one.

Valve has hired a bunch of people to work on drivers, we got more big ports last year than we ever did before and the trend is set to continue.

Linux already is a viable gaming platform. It just has a smaller library than other platforms. Again, why does this affect the 'realness' of the games?

I get that you don't find the games available on Linux adequate, but to make such a broad statement that playing video games on Linux isn't real gaming kind of rubs me the wrong way.

I just wish Valve used login and gametime stats instead of a silly survey. A survey that's rare on Linux but almost monthly on Windows.

Their methods are hurting Linux gaming as it can scare away new and existing developers and publishers.

One more data point: I have owned several consoles in the past. I only play on Linux now. These "not real games" that folks are mentioning seem to keep me pretty busy. Over 300 of them, personally.

Sadly,all i said above is happening.Not to you maybe or for a bunch of people but it is happening.

And when you once get into that circle you realized you're not so into gaming after all.Because you're trying to keep up with possible ports,api's,Wine like solutions.That is not 'real' gaming if you ask me. When all games served at your feet and you don't have to worry about api,quality of port etc. gaming starts to matter more

You're right ,it is not entertaining but that is a fact and one of logical reasons about this lack of some games and cancelled ports or Linux version promised but cancelled Kickstarter games.
