STRAFE [Steam, Kickstarter] looks fantastic as an FPS and a throwback to some retro shooters, but sadly it has seen a delay. I reached out to the publisher Devolver Digital to ask about the Linux release as it wasn't mentioned in the announcement.

When asking if "PC" meant Windows in the recent announcement, or if they were including Linux in that and here's the reply:

QuoteSTRAFE will hit PC via Windows and Mac, at least first.

I did additionally ask if there was any release date now set for the Linux version:

QuoteNot at the moment, no.

STRAFE was funded on Kickstarter with $207,847 pledged to make this retro throwback FPS happen. I'm really excited to play it, so hopefully we don't get let down.

Good riddance. I suppose people (like me) use Linux based operating systems not only because of a certain market share on Steam.

If you want to do real gaming, you will need to use other platforms besides Linux. If you don't think so,ask Liam.Who also uses a console for real gaming.

Yeah, fanatics like you always exist so i'm not surprised.

I have also not received a single steam hardware survey since I have migrated to Linux only. And I have installed Steam for Linux quite a few times...

Just to make something very clear. Linux is and always will be my primary platform for anything.

"Real gaming" can be anything. Linux has plenty of high quality games now.

I own a PS4 because the girlfriend purchased one at release and I picked up mine a good while before Linux gaming got serious. My PS4 has become nothing more than a Netflix box. I own a Switch again, due to family, but sure I'm gonna play it since we have it.

Don't use me to boost up silly arguments.

I created an account here just because of this comment. I would like to know what real gaming is. I think I might have been doing it wrong.

I do not own a console system I have been using Linux for 9 years and playing on Linux for almost the same amount. The steam survey is not right and I wish publishers would not look at the survey as being 100% right. I personally do not have a reason to not play my games on Linux (my computer).

Wonderful :)

Real gaming:Don't need to wait for ports, getting access to AAA games via in house ports and at the first day, don't have to worry about port qualities, not try to be considering as a viable platform instead of becoming one.

I hope this was helpful.
