I have it confirmed that the planned Linux version of Cossacks 3 [Official Site] has been once again delayed and it's now not due until April, if they even make that.

@gamingonlinux To make the game comletely done, we delay the release for Mac and Linux to April 2017. Sorry for this and hope you'll stay.

Cossacks 3 for Linux was originally due to be released alongside the Windows version, then it was delayed for the second half of October last year. We were then told in November last year the finishing touches were being done, but this was delayed due to issues with a new DLC release at the time. It was then confirmed for the 15th of March this year, then delayed again until the 29th of March and now today it has been delayed yet again until April.

This doesn't surprise me, since GSC Game World have announced another expansion for the game, so it doesn't take a super smart person to figure out their priorities here. This is a damn shame, since I've been really hyped to play it as a massive RTS fan, but now I really do feel my enthusiasm for it vanishing with each delay.

About delayed versions. What happened to Everspace? They said, they had some issues, and nothing since then.

Very sad, I was also very hyped on this game because I loved the first Cossacks.
For all RTS lovers check out nightside, amazing strategy gem!

Take your guesses; mine is 2019 :D

That is the problem; they're releasing games when the heat of game goes off. People (via dual boot or Wine) already deveours the game and mostly they don't need to buy again when it is released.

Puh...

my comment in the last article was:
"I'm also happy to wait a little bit longer. I'm really exited for this one."
At this point in time I'm starting to get a little bit annoyed.

Better than silently dropping the port. As long as the port still comes I'm happy :)

I've been wondering the exact same thing. :-|

They should stop going by calendar dates and instead switch to measure of distance between continents.

I remember a similar scenario where a developer postponed the Linux version multiple times and then eventually announced that it had been cancelled due to development 'difficulties'.
I don't like feeling like I'm being strung along.

Guys, March 29 is set in stone. We won't change the release date any more.

Quoting their February news from steam:
QuoteHowever, a major task has been completed: we migrated the whole project to Unreal Engine 4.14, which enables us to simultaneously release all upcoming patches and the full version across all current platforms. We’re still waiting for NVidia/Epic to fix the major graphical glitch under Linux, but we will keep you posted on that.
