Adventure game Syberia 3 [Steam] is showing signs that it might release on Linux. It does look pretty good, so hopefully it works out.
You can see on SteamDB here that it's showing signs of coming over to Linux.
The user reviews are a little worrying, even more worrying is some more professional reviews giving it quite low ratings. As always, I take other reviews with a pinch of salt as I do at times love what others hate, but in this case it seems like it's rather buggy. Hopefully it will be a little more polished if it does release on Linux.
About the game
The limitless imagination of Benoît Sokal continues in Syberia 3, focusing on an entirely new adventure. After abandoning the island, Kate is found dying on the edge of a river by the Youkole tribe, a nomadic people migrating with their snow ostriches. Stuck in Valsembor village, together they must find a way to continue their journey in a race against their enemies and unexpected obstacles, not to mention Kate's past, which catches up with her.
The next generation in adventure games, Syberia 3 takes you inside an enchanting, mysterious universe full of life for you to explore in 3D. Plunged into the heart of a world inhabited by a cast of interesting characters, you'll discover and experience a fabulous tale as imagined by Benoit Sokal.

This was a day one buy until I saw extra BS DRM they are using on the Windows version. I'll get it and play on Linux if it comes out.

The first two games were really good, I would definitely buy the 3rd if it came out for Linux, point and click Broken Sword type games are one of my favourite genres, I'd buy it regardless of some negative reviews.

I will buy it as long as it doesn't have a Linux version of Denuvo.

yeah it's a unity game so no reason to not release it on linux, too.

Will that also include a port of Denuvo?

I guess they will get rid of Denuvo altogether - it proved out Denuvo is really easy to crack on Unity games, so it was cracked on 3rd day by an actual "SomeRandomAntiDenuvoGuy". Supposedly, this reduced game loading time by a whooping 40 seconds, so it was yet another issue of DRM hurting game for legitimate users.

Instant buy for me as well when it is released !

From what I heard, it is a "meh" game with bad "consolized" controls. No Linux version. DRM (and what a DRM that is!). Steam-only.
Finished the first game in the series. Liked it. Played the second one. Got bored, dropped. Probably won't bother with the third one if it actually gets its release on Linux.

That is a rather strange game to encumber with drm like Denuvo, it's not like the masses of pirating teenagers will throw themselves at a point and click.
I enjoyed both previous Syberia games very much, so looking forward to this... once it's out on Linux and fixed up a little.

Wow, that is a surprise, I played the original many years ago, but I didn't know the franchise was still going.

I remember the first two quite warmly, although I also do remember moaning about them back in the day, so will wait to see some reviews and probably buy it. In the meantime, I just spent the budget for games in the big cardboard boxes for the Discworld Series :O:S::D
