Topware have been going over their games and giving them Wine-ports where possible. Septerra Core & Jack Orlando are two titles that were previously given this treatment on Steam, but now GOG too.

Enter a world where the laws of nature work in strange new ways, allowing continents to orbit at different elevations around the planet. Living battleships float overhead and Junk Pirates roam the darkness. This is a world whose very Core is a living computer, quietly watching over the fruits of its master’s creation.
On the Outer Shell Layer above, the ancient society of the Chosen live an extravagant lifestyle, consuming mass amounts of energy and dumping their waste onto the Layers below. They have discovered secrets about the world in which they live, and begin a descent towards the inner Core, caring not who gets in their way.
Not much to say about either, apart from respecting Topware for porting old titles to Linux by the use of Wine. They aren't the only developer/publisher to do it and for old games that work perfectly in Wine it's a good use of it. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I already own Septerra Core on GOG so may give her another spin if they wrapped it in a special Wine layer.
Think it worked fine with regular wine till one particular boss where it decided to crash on me.

Fuck yeah didn't think it would ever happen but sucks it's a wine wrapper though, I still have my Septerra Core CD.

Noting that Septerra Core on Steam released the Linux port on 14 Nov 2016, and Jack Orlando's Linux port came out on Steam on 20 Mar 2017. Good that GOG is getting them, but shame about the delay.

Good thing to know Septerra Core works in wine, I still have my original CD and T-Shirt. And it was the first game to have my name in the credits! (I was running a website dedicated to the game back then) Great game, but its slow, the battles last forever with very slow and long animations. It could really use a speed up key like you get on console emulators.
