I've been testing out ATOM [Official Site], a new RPG that's currently on Kickstarter and they seem to have Linux support nailed down pretty well already.

I've personally tested the demo build and it seems to run flawlessly, it's not bad looking either. Has some nice lighting, good textures and performance for me is very smooth.

It's an open-world game, so you forge your own path picking where you go and pick up quests along the way. So it's a little like Wasteland 2 as well. You pick a character, adjust the statistics to your liking and away you go.

Considering they have a Linux build already, which runs and looks pretty good, I think this is well worthy of some attention. Their goal is tiny in comparison to many others at $15K, but they do have a fair bit of the work done already considering they have a reasonably high quality demo build available. They have 29 days left, so plenty of time to hit the goal.

Even if they don't git their Kickstarter goal, they will continue on as it's a passion project for them. Hopefully it will get funded though!

They also have a Steam page up for you to follow. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I think Russians like post-apocalyptic scenery because it resembles many places in their country today :P The game looks promising but that 3d gfx is dated. At least they should work on lighting and shadows or just make it in 2/2.5d with hand drawn backgrounds. Another thing is fighting mutated flies with fists, knife or a gun. Is that a realistic scenario? You probably would use a can of spray of some sort and a lighter or an insect poisoner.

Would like a game in the style of the old Fallout(s)
Underrail did not work well on wine last time i tried.

A bit skeptical about kickstarters now , so will wait to see what comes of this.

Impressive. Even my squalling inner cynic stares with mouth agape, stunned to silence. I'm downloading it even as I type these words. I don't have money to gamble with (i.e. lose) so I'll avoid the back-alley crapshoot that is Kickstarter. I will wishlist and follow this ... possibly even buy it while it's still in Early Access, if it ever is in Early Access.

So is it open-world, or is it like Wasteland 2? Because Wasteland 2 really isn't open-world.

Nice news. Looks and sounds very good. Will try demo this evening.

One of the character class should be stalker as in the so-impressive novel from Arkady and Boris Strugatsky (if you don't know what to read, try it)

I hope they will hit the second goal to get the crafting system ^^

You could mention the novel is Roadside Picnic :P

Wishlisted!

It looks really nice, although I hope it's more stable than Wasteland 2, at least for me that was sadly a real crash-to-desktop bonanza.
