DiRT Rally [Steam], the rather excellent game ported to Linux by Feral Interactive is free to try for the next three days so be sure to give it a go!

I love it, I absolutely suck at it, but I love it. This is a fantastic chance for those of you on the fence about buying it to give it a good few hours over the weekend to try it out. Personally, I've found it incredibly fun driving with the inside cockpit view, but it does make it really quite challenging with such a limited view.

To top it off, it's also a massive 70% off until the 15th. So you can try it free and pick it up super cheap, what's not to love? Sure it would be nice to support Feral at full price, but not everyone can afford to do so and sales are there for a reason.

If you somehow missed it, see my initial review and port report here. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

The G29 and its FFB works pretty well, you just have to put it on PS3 mode, as in PS4 is sometimes cease to work after quiting the game, and reboot does not always fix the problem. It can also happen that the G29 will be aligned badly, so I suggest to always go in custom event to check if everything works fine before trying online event or to go career mode.

If the wheel is not aligned correctly, you have to close the game, and then unplug and replug it and check if it works. If not you have to repeat the same operation.

Otherwise the FFB just works as good as on windows imo. It is slightly more precise on PS4 mode, but it can buggy. Otherwise it's similar to FFB on windows 7, and even better than on windows 10.

Man, this game runs really well and it's so freakin' fun, even if it is brutally unforgiving (as it should be). :D

Bah, it's not recognising my Logitech Driving Force GT. Odd since it works fine with other Feral port, GRID Autosport. I was very tempted with the 70% discount, but might have to give it a miss.

I'm not much for racing games but since it was actually kind of fun to play and the price was cheaper than dirt I just had to have it in my library permanently. Thumbs up to Feral for porting so many nice games for our pleasure. :)
Due to AMD not being officially supported I got the warning sign when starting the game but it I experienced zero performance problems once the game was running.

It's listed in the controller descriptions file.

I saw it there, but it still doesn't work for me.

I definitely would wanna buy it...I just don't have enough RAM -.-

this game has an ultra low preset that would run on a potato with 2GB of ram so i would give it a try.

seriously with my computer i can run it at ultra low 120fps at 1080p or low 45fps 720p
Just did that yesterday after I've been able to install the free weekend version via Steam Bug Picture.
It works quite okay when you are in an race itself (ultra low to low) but the menu is really painful. It feels like the "video" in the background is rendered in full quality making the natural very slow and sluggish
