My excitement levels are rising once again, as Feral Interactive are teasing a new intro video, but for what exactly?

The teaser is available on Twitter:

Could it be related to their current Linux/Mac port teaser that appeared on their radar recently?

Feral have been good to Linux with games like Alien Isolation, XCOM 1 & 2, HITMAN, Tomb Raider, Deus Ex and plenty more. Hopefully this will continue for a long time.

Begin guesswork minions!

Dawn of War I would be nice.

I get Doom vibes. The lava glow in the Feral letters at the end there? Lot's of lava in Doom. The weapon is of course the chaingun.

Please please... Let it be Doom.
I hope you're right.

Ahh , that would be great.

Would be great to see DOW3 or Doom

I think it's Dawn of War 3, the sound of the gunfire is very similar to the imperial knight solaria from DoW 3.

Even the sweeping gunfire is reminiscent of that Knight, so I'd go for DoW3 too. Not really my cup of tea, but I'm sure plenty will be happy by it.

It's most likely DoW3, which will make a lot of people happy. I'll pass on it, however, if that's the case.

will it be platform independent multiplayer ? or will it be just like CoH 2 and DoW 2
coolbober May 4, 2017
Looks like Dawn of war 3 for me too

Space Hulk: Deathwing would also be cool, and the shooting sound is close to one of the weapons in that game too.

Something shooty. Well, that really narrows it down, eh?
MintedGamer May 4, 2017
I'll be really, really pleased if its DOW 3, I love the DOW series.
Luke_Nukem May 4, 2017
I just despertely want it to be either Doom, Quake Champions, or Prey. Any of those big 3 would make my day.
All of those 3 would make my whole decade.

Well, my preference would be for it to be DOOM (2016) which does have chain-guns in game. A little video example:

However, general opinion is that it is going to be DoW 3, and my bet is on that being the actual release.

I didn't played the Space Hulk: Deathwing, but from what I read, the game is really bad. Stupid AI, many bugs and others things, that are making it unplayable, so I rather see DoW 3 instead of Space Hulk. But what I want to see on Linux is Battlefleet Gothic.

will it be platform independent multiplayer ? or will it be just like CoH 2 and DoW 2

This mostly depends how the multiplayer code is done. If the game uses dedicated servers than probably yes, but if the network code will be same as in Space Marine or DoW 2 than probably no.
I didn't played the DoW 3, so I'm unable to say if the Relic has better multiplayer code than in DoW 2.

I would love to say original Dawn of War; but given the fact that there are at least 5 Feral related branches of Dawn of War III on SteamDB, it is most probably DoW3.

I don't find DoW3 extremely bad but I would rather prefer playing the original DoW online.

Why people would love this to be Battlefield 1? The game was mediocre what I have seen. Pretty graphics, yes (Frostbite engine is really good, but it is directx heavy AFAIK).

Well, pretty much the same people who do not bother checking the original publishers of Feral's previous Linux ports... Expecting Feral to come up with an EA or Bethesda port out of blue extremely unlikely; yet some naives keep crying for Battlefield and Skyrim... Hack, we have a useful tool called SteamDB which indicates potential Feral ports in 10 km, yet some wishes for mobile games or console games... It looks like Linux gaming extended to a point which includes "average gamers" who usually do not bother investigating. For some point of view, it is not a bad thing but seeing same wishes for every Feral tease makes me tired.

Sega, Square Enix, Codemasters, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, 2K Games are the publishers that Feral has contracts with. Please keep your expectations realistic.

The lava can also be for "vulkan" ^^
valgusk May 5, 2017
I hope it is not doom, as many users will have it already. We need something big and shiny and new so that gamers are happy and feral still gets the buck
km3k May 5, 2017
It's probably Dawn of War III, but I wish it was Doom.
wolfblue96 May 5, 2017
I'd be exceddingly surpirsed if it is anything but dow3
