Reus [Steam, Official Site] landed on Linux in some form of Beta quite some time ago, but the game has been updated today to bring it in line with the Windows version with official support.

Note: The Linux version is not yet on GOG, hopefully not long until it is.

A few days ago, the original porter Ethan Lee noted that Abbey Games would be merging all versions of the game to build and upload it themselves. As of today, they have now done this! Which means the Linux version of Reus is no longer hidden, but officially supported.

Today's patch notes:
Quote
  • Mac and Linux versions for Reus! We’ve eliminated crashes and improved performance. Reus should now run great on Mac and Linux.
  • Overall better performance and small quality of life improvements, like much requested improvements to the UI text.
  • Official Chinese Translations!

Fantastic, it's been a long time coming, but good things take time as they say. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

It's been so long that this game has been released that I forgot there was going to be a Linux version. Better late than never, which means I will buy it if released on GOG, I'm glad they finally got around to finish it.

Ah nice, I was trying to think of something relaxing to play tonight that's not my usual go-tos - Eu/Am Truck Simulator.

I've had this for ages, and basically forgot it existed. Tempted to try it out again sometime.

I didn't know it ran bad. I think beta run pretty god. Now I need to test what's improved :)

That's funny, I never knew it was in beta. :D I got it in a (indie?) bundle and I played it about 3 years ago and it seemed to run just fine. I never realized it wasn't officially released for Linux :D

I had fun with the game but the performance was horrible on my integrated graphics, maybe I'll check back in and see if it's improved

Own this on GOG already.
Will wait for Linux release i guess.

Performance wasn't that good in the beta. Certainly playable, but there were occasional stutters that got worse over time.
Glad to see that it has been updated, as I liked the game. Maybe I'm going to install it today again.
