Tom Olson said that " Open GL 5 " was the name they decided at the beginning. I'm so glad that some people rejected that name by saying " Open GL has a mixed reputation"

Quoting: GuestInteresting, at the 29:11 mark in the Feral Interactive presentation: GRID is going to be ported to Android on Vulkan, so maybe we'll see the same on Linux?

It was announced earlier , maybe we can see in the future. But priorities should be on Vulkanizing Hitman and Deus Ex: MD.

Feral never ceases to amaze me. the community teamwork effort they are doing to help Mesa along with Vulkan will be the key for Linux going forward. it looks like Feral may be able to push out more ports soon because of how effective they seem to be from all the Vulkan work. I can't wait to see how GRID autosport performs on android.

the next couple of years for Linux gaming will very exciting :)

My favorite part is starting just a few seconds before that at about 28:54 where they said (not shockingly) they plan to start using Vulkan for pretty much all of their Linux ports. He does say under his breath, "some maybe not", but that's understandable depending on the game.

Thx for sharing. It's pretty interesting. The both team managed to get better perf, while still being at the beginning of mastering this Technology. It seems to be a very sophisticated API, so it's all good for the future of gaming. Looking forward to the next games and port using it.
