Brawl of Ages [Steam, Official Site] is a fun simple take on an RTS that I quite enjoyed previously. It has just been updated with a new 2v2 mode promising to make it even more interesting.

The good thing is that each player has their own rating, so the other player apparently doesn't affect your own statistics. It will be interesting to see how this new mode affects their player count, which has been struggling a bit.

If you don't remember what it is, check out their gameplay video:

It's an easy pick up and play RTS that plays out a lot like the Android game Clash Royale. I really like the idea of the game and the gameplay is actually quite fun too.

Have you played it, if so, what do you think? Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I wouldn't hold my breath for this game's future. S2 is famous for starting up with a cool idea and then dropping the game's development. The perfect example here would be Strife since this game is using the art assets from that one.

Which Strife game ?
I tried to filter on steam based on their name as Publisher but all I found were this game and Savage Ressurection.
Is it an Android game ?

Then again , I guess we can enjoy it free until we are sure it is a done deal , and not put any real money in it.

I think that predator8bit is talking about this Strife game. I also liked it a lot, but the game is pretty much dead. If you try to play, you will probably get a game -after many minutes on queue- with bots.

Yes , I see now what Strife game was meant.
Odd that it is the same name for DEV/Publisher but steam fails to show it , at least for me.
Usually if a dev and/or publisher release several games on steam and you click on their name , Steam lists all their products.

This game has more potential than Strife.

At this point, one has to wonder if they can afford to ditch two games in a row.

For all the hate they received for Strife, they seem to be listening to feedback more than they have in the past.

I personally enjoy this game and I hope it takes off.

Let us not forget Heroes of Newerth, which they also ditched. At least they sold that game to Frostburn Studios, I think. Heroes of Newerth still has a pretty good player base, last time I checked. I like it better than DOTA 2, for sure.

To be fair, they sold Heroes of Newerth to focus on Strife and some other game (Savage remake?).

Tried to try it, crashes on launch :(

Manjaro, Intel i5, 8Go RAM, GTX1060 3Go.

Meh.

They ditched all of their previous games, not just two, first Savage and Savage 2 for Heroes of Newerth then HoN for Strife and then Strife for Savage Resurrection and then SR for this 'new game' which is basically a copy of some other game with assets from one of their previous games. I don't see this one playing out any different either, especially since this has the least effort put into it from all of their titles.

See what you mean now.
Thanks for the warning.
Won't be supporting them with my cash then.

Same here. I have tried it a couple times, weeks apart, and it crashes during startup. Shame.

Same here :/
Got the splash screen, then a couple of seconds of login screen loading, then crash to desktop without any error.

Dude, that's stupid, savage came out in 2003 and it even kept going for a long time after savage 2 came out. Infact with Savage XR it might still be going (don't know, haven't looked in forever). Savage 2 kept going for a long time after it came out as well. You're pissy because you expect a game company to not depart from their previous after a decade, decade and a half? That is stupid. Just play the games and enjoy them, in particular Strife, instead of bitching about how dead it is, go and play it! While it is less populated it's far from dead, I still get a match after just a minute of queueing, in my opinion Strife is still the best moba.

S2 has still been one of the best champions for Linux games, always releasing for Linux, always patching same day for all, very few other companies have given us as much as they have.

Your sense of entitlement is strong.

Well this simply isn't true, I can't play the game because even if I get a game after queueing a while, the delay in the game became unbearable, every single action require 2-10 seconds to "register", the delay must've got this bad because they shut down some servers, as it used to be fine. I'm from Eastern Europe btw, so switching servers isn't really an option since it only makes my delay worse.
Grifter Jun 20, 2017
Well this simply isn't true

It's true for me, I've never had any of the issues you speak of, I queue EU, sometimes USE.
