The Culling [Steam] had been left broken on Linux for quite some time, but as promised the developers have tried to fix it. It now works, well, sort of anyway. When I say it works, I mean it loads, but it's still very broken.

The game will actually load now and not outright crash, so that's progress. The problem is, it didn't detect any keyboard input due to it thinking I was using a gamepad. I turned my Steam Controller on and suddenly I could move, hooray! I couldn't look around though, boo! I then restarted with an adjusted config on the Steam Controller and it then it didn't even register input from that any more.

Tried again and now it just crashes to the desktop any time I try the training, so not so good.

The menu is also super broken graphically:

Oh dear!

Progress is progress, it's just damn slow. You can see the full patch notes for today here. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

sounds like it's really worth waiting for an update... on the other hand: strategy / gameplay seems to be like ARK:Survival of the Fittest, so why wait for it anyway if you already have ARK...
besides that: QA for Linux ports seems to be close to zero for many games (yes, there's a couple of wonderful examples which will contradict this statement (i.e. Gaijin/Feral stuff just to name two of 'em), but there's a lot more for which it sadly holds true)... so why do companies complain about low linux sales? would they release the same kind of quality on a playstation (would it even pass QA of Sony?)? i just think if the penguin is going to be a real gamer at some time it will need serious commitment from developers and users willing to make demands (not just being excited that their platform has been notice at all).

While true , we are barely scratching the chicken and the egg scenario and Valve and their SteamOS gave us a powerful nudge in the right direction.

I agree we need a more demanding customer base and proper Q&A , but when we are 1-2% of the community , I'm just glad we get games.
