Slightly sad news today, as the amazing looking Observer [Steam, Official Site] from Bloober Team & Aspyr Media has a release date announcement, but it doesn't include Linux.

On August 15th the game will release for Windows and consoles, but there's now no Linux date set. To be clear, the Linux version hasn't been dropped, but it seems it will see a delayed release. Aspyr Media should be reaching out to us when it gets closer to releasing on Linux.
I'm really looking forward to it, so not having it day-1 is a bit of a let-down for me, but hopefully this is to ensure the Linux version is solid.
About the game
QuoteThe year is 2084. If you somehow survived the Nanophage, odds are you were killed in the War. Those who live have turned to drugs, VR, neural implants— anything to distract themselves from this new reality. You are Daniel Lazarski, an elite neural detective known as an Observer, and part of a corporate-funded police unit whose purpose is to hack and invade suspects’ minds. In this future, anything you think, feel, or remember can be used against you in a court of law.

As long as we don't have to wait till 2084 for it.

Is that Rutger Hauer? Everything seem very Blade Runner-ish, even the music.

I can't find it that specific myself it says "PC" on the news posts and "Steam" on the website, which is both rather unspecific. That said, being a UE4 game it wouldn't surprise me if they needed a little extra time to get mac and linux sorted.

It is mentioned on steam but they haven't really made that much of a fuss about him being in the game, you'd think they would seeing as who he is & his part in Blade Runner.

I love Rutger. Ever since I've seen "turks fruit" and "soldaat van oranje" and "spetters". Never seen "floris" though. I wasn't born then.

Any details on why? Problems porting or just that Linux is a low priority?
