Good news everyone! Dawn of War III [Steam, Feral Store] has been updated on Linux today and we now have the Annihilation game modes available.

I've been personally looking forward to this patch, as Windows gamers got it in June and thankfully we haven't had to wait too long.

The new Annihilation game modes make the game less like a MOBA and much more like a traditional RTS. So if that was putting you off, it's now easier to recommend it to you. Check out the video to explain the new modes:

To be clear, the new game modes are additional to the previous mode, they don't replace it if you did like it. The new game modes open the game up a bit more to different play styles, since you will be able to build your own turrets and not have to worry about defending specific locations.

It also adds in a new map, Mortis Vale, which looks incredibly detailed and it's going to be fun to wage war across it.

I've certainly been enjoying it and we still play it every week live on Twitch! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Sounds like Steam update might have failed, I would verify your installation data (usually the cause of update issues) if it still continues then contact Feral support.

Game itself starts. I can only hear audio. On screen I am able to see only feral logo (without animation - before was with animation) and then game mouse cursor with black background. Terminal shows nothing special. I will contact you, via "official way" later, maybe this is a steam issue.

I submitted a report very much like this one. For me the screen froze at the feral logo as well. But only on OpenGL+Fullscreen. Vulkan and OpenGL+Windowed were fine. Worth a check.
