XCOM 2: War of the Chosen [Steam] has another new unit reveal, this time it's for The Templar, another one we can recruit to the cause.

I think it looks like a damn fun unit to play with, so I'm pleased it could be recruited for our side. The aliens have enough units as it is.

About The Templar
QuoteThe Templars – led by Geist, one of the original Psionic soldiers – stayed away from ADVENT and their city centers after surviving the fall of the XCOM Project. In their isolation, they developed an almost religious zeal for collecting Psionic energy. Experimenting upon themselves, they even created weaponry that taps into their latent skills. As ADVENT and the Chosen Warlock begin siphoning Psionic energy across the planet, the Templars are now preparing to strike back.

They're to be used as a a front-line fighter with some truly devastating attacks. They can become more powerful over time through a new focus mechanic, where you need to balance spending focus with giving them a break to charge up again.

I think they're doing a fantastic job with the hype machine on this one, with the information on units trickling in with these little teasers. I think they're fantastic and my excitement grows with each new reveal.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen releases for Linux shortly after the Windows version. I am hoping to have some thoughts on it after it releases, so sit tight.

Keep safe out there, Commander. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Xcom 2 have to stop this somewhere. releasing new units new enemies just trolls the whole enjoyable game mechanics.

beyond that xcom concept may evolve something much more attractive just like open world MMORPG as Turn Based combat mechanics. just like WAKFU / DOFUS. so we may get much more than xcom 2 classic.

Seems like Focus is their version of ammo. Or actually, it reminds me of the Engineer from Torchlight II with his charge mechanic, where charges can be consumed to make various skills stronger.

Do we know how long after the Windows release they'll be launching the Linux version?
