Feral Interactive are up to their usual teasing once again. They've announced F1 2017 is coming to Mac, but they're also directly requesting to see demand for it on Linux.

See their Tweet:

Should Linux re-join our FORMULA ONE team with F1 2017? It won’t be this month if they do, but show us there's demand! #THEREQUESTINATOR pic.twitter.com/MLuN2IJAyv

I believe this is the first time they've ever asked the Linux community about demand for a specific game. The interesting thing really is their wording "It won’t be this month if they do" meaning there's a real chance.

Considering they previously ported F1 2015 to Linux and said F1 2016 won't be ported as sales of F1 2015 weren't strong enough, maybe they're going to test the waters once again? I imagine if F1 2017 is actually reviewed better, it would sell better.

Quoting: berillionsNo thanks, i prefer a good game, not this piece of shit.

After Total War games, F1 games ...

I feel pity for you if this is the only response you can come up with ...

I'm very likely to buy it if it has a co-op career with friends online.

I was a little put off with poor reviews on the one that was ported to Linux before.

I do not Tweet or other crap social crap, but I post here. So if Feral is listening, I will buy it full price.

Enough strategy crap, give us some action.

I've played F1 2015 for 19.4h. Had bought it for 20 euros. For this price I would also buy the new version again. Maybe also for 30 euros. I'm not a big fan of racing games so far. But perhaps this would change. :)

EDIT: I don't understand how I can participate on this. Do I need a twitter account? Is there something on steam?

i have never played racing game even in windows. i dont care about racing games.
Doom 2016
witcher 3 or so will be better choice to port to linux.

Like many others, I also would prefer some other genres before another racing simulator.

But if it comes out for linux and the reviews are good, then I would most likely purchase it during a sale.

So count me as a +0.25.

Yes yes yes please. F1 2016 is my favorite game.

The port of 2015 was very bad (I bought it). It has very poor performance with my rx480 compared to windows performance. A port with vulkan would be my favorite linux game.

Please port it. I'm gonna buy it when it is released.

I'm interested. I already found F1 2015 quite entertaining and if F1 2017 improves on that I'm definitely tempted to throw some money at Feral.

i like racing, but I didn't enjoy F1 2015... and I don't think the new version will atract me more... I really love Dirt Rally and the quality of the port.... Grid Autosports feels a little bit weird on the wheel but still would prefer it over F1 201x....
Assetto Corsa as a port would be fantastic... but I'd be only bying DLCs then as I already own it... don't know if some of the money then would get to Feral... but I'd be comfortable with a Linux-Engine-DLC and would be paying for it... maybe that's something to be evaluated (yes, it's not common at the moment, but why not give it a try? maybe (hopefully) the response is much better than those guys comments who want everything for free)....
