Serious Sam Fusion [Steam] is Croteam's Vulkan-powered game engine that covers many Serious Sam games and it seems they have some plans.

They will start by including the community a lot more in their plans, with regular posts about planned changes to gather feedback from the community. They will be slowing the time between patch releases, to lengthen the beta period to get more feedback as well. A good approach for sure, so let's hope it works out well for them.

It seems they're planning to remaster some more content, including:
- Legend of the Beast Redux: Apparently many people didn't like it, so they're going to rebalance and redesign it

- Serious Sam HD Remaster: They might know a guy, who knows a guy, who might be able to update all the textures to make it look a bit more modern. It sounds like they will remaster the plot of The First Encounter and The Second Encounter which are full of inconsistencies

- Serious Sam 3: BFE Remaster: They will be reverting the PS3 "optimizations" and further improve the graphics. This sounds like it will include better textures with "detail normal maps" and "Oh also, what about different times of day?". Sounds like SS3 is going to get quite interesting!

I wish someone could remaster BFE to make it more colorful.
It is a fun game but the aesthetics kill it for me. The first and second encounter felt like an amusement ride. BFE feels like a gray-brown modern military shooter.

As a big fan of the Serious Sam franchise, I'm very happy to hear about these improvements. Looking forward to playing them again :)

You can change the color scheme in the game's settings. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KTjg92fQDE
I mean: It's at least something :S:

I'll be honest did not know about that.
Maybe I just have rose tinted glasses for older titles and did not have enough fun with this one.
