Ryan "Icculus" Gordon [Official Site, Twitter], the man responsible for maintaining many development tools like SDL 2 and who ported many games to Linux, is looking for new games to port. The fun thing is, he doesn't require payment since he's funded by his Patreon.
He's had contracts with Valve, Epic Games, Activision, Google, Crytek and plenty more. He has a lot of awesome work under his belt!
From his new post:
This is a pretty interesting way to get Linux ports done. Ryan has hit over $750 a month on Patreon now, so any ports he does as a result of this directly, will be funded by his Patreon, not the original game developer.
I've seen the discussion of crowdfunding Linux ports come up here and there, but this is one of the times that it might work. So, if you know any, send the developer to him and we may see more Linux games get ported as a result.
Will be very fun to see what comes out of this.

Quote[…]If there's a developer that you think would be interested in getting a Linux port done by a guy that they don't have to pay, let me know. Hell, let them know about me! Let's see if we can get some conversations going with some developers that are sitting on the fence!

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Here's a crazy idea that might be useful to a lot of people: what if, like our system specs, we could choose linux wishlist titles, maybe from a preexisting list to keep it consistent, and keep it attached to our profiles? It'd be really interesting to see the numbers, and what games get voted top (apart from the usual doom 2016 and witcher and skyrim). Kind of a live perma-poll...
I also can't wait to read why it's a stupid and terrible idea. This oughtta be interesting.

This reminds me…
Quoting: Tommy Refenes"I can't wait for some Linux programmer guy to e-mail me and say "I'll port this for free", because I already have the e-mail already written that I'm going to send back to him, and basically tell him to fuck off, indefinitely."Is this proposal still intact?

The Elex developers are open to a Linux version of Elex, but they're reluctant due to having no experience with the platform.

Quoting: ShmerlRyan Gordon can do something similar, and for example implement high quality FOSS DX11 → Vulkan translation layer, that would make it even better.
Not a bad idea. Since Gallium10 or 11 will likely never be a thing (thanks Nvidia). And, theoretically, D3D-to-Vulkan wrappers could be better, performance-wise, than D3D-to-OpenGL.

Never heard of that one. THQ Nordic as publisher should not be a problem either. In-house DirectX engine, so will probably be a challenge to port. Could be interesting for someone with his experience.
