Soon you might be able to live the life of a Wolf, as the developer of WolfQuest [Steam, Official Site] has made significant progress on the Linux beta.

Speaking on the Steam forum, the developer has noted recently that they've fixed a lot of the issues including getting multiplayer working in the Linux version:
QuoteI've got a new Linux build, which should fix most and hopefully all of the issues. If you've purchased WQ, you should be auto-logged in when you run the game. On a quick test, everything looks normal.
Water looks fine on my Ubuntu system, but I suspect there's a lot of variation with graphics drivers on Linux and so that may be pink (which means 'I can't read this shader") on some boxes.

They also then posted about the multiplayer being fixed only a day later.

They've also officially announced the Beta now on their Steam store page directly. You can opt-in if you own it by selecting the "linuxtest" from the Beta section on Steam.

We have a lot of survival games, but not many that see you become an animal as you become a part of nature, could be interesting to take a look at when it's officially released for Linux. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Normally I would have thought something like: but why????

However, after putting about 20 hours into The Long Dark over the past two weeks, taking up the part of the wolf seems like an oddly satisfying idea.

I played this some years ago on Windows (before I switched to Linux), when it was still free. Obviously I don't know how many improvements have happened to it since then, but it was a decent enough game at the time. One feature it has that I thought was cool and haven't seen in other games was "Smell-O-Vision", where you can toggle on and off the ability to see scent trails of other animals, allowing you to either follow them (if prey, like rabbits or elk) or avoid them (if predators, like bears, though at that point they were more annoying than dangerous). The second part of the game, where you raise your litter of pups, was also pretty cool (though had more noticeable control difficulties when trying to interact with your kids, hopefully that's been fixed in the meantime).

no, its not related, this game came before goat simulator, its not another comedy sandbox with poor physics to make it funnier (or due to lazy devs) and unfixed bugs to make it funnier.

its a real: wolf simulator.
