It seems the recent teaser of a new Linux & Mac port from Feral Interactive has seen the two platforms split, with Mac now getting it first.
When the "West Norwood" teaser was first announced, it was shown as coming to Linux & Mac at the same time. Now they each have an entry, with the Mac version due out first.
Now the Linux version is sat in the "Soon" section, with Mac in the "Very Soon" section:
Have you any idea what it is yet?
I have to say it's a shame. Not unexpected though, since Feral now have to work with a different graphics API for Mac. They also likely have two different teams working on Linux & Mac ports, so the Linux team might be encountering problems.
So from Feral: Linux isn't getting Bioshock Remastered, the Total War WARHAMMER 'Norsca' DLC is delayed for us and the XCOM 2: War of the Chosen expansion is not a day-1 Linux release either. Hopefully Feral will step up a bit for us, but I'm sure they have some surprises in store for us yet.
This year they've already given us some really fun games like HITMAN, Shogun 2 and DiRT Rally. I personally hope for some more great single-player games from them!
Thanks to MaCroX95 in our Discord for pointing it out.

"West Norwood" now seems to have vanished.

But if you were to merge every other distribution into those narrow categories, you'd have a disaster. Arch is built in a very different way: it can't merge into Red Hat, because their entire ideology would be scrapped or lost. Same with Slack and Gentoo.
Well, I don't want to merge, I would like distro's like arch or others to vanish from the mainstream distro's and have their users and developers/maintainers switch to Ubuntu or Fedora/CentOS ;)
Maintaining a distribution is a lot of work, far more than 20 years ago. I'm much in favor of combining human resources into a few distributions, than having lots of understaffed ditro flavors. I'm sure Ubuntu's move with be very healthy for the Gnome project and lots of improvements will arrive to due more users and more people to contribute.
I know of course that Ubuntu and Fedora/CentOS aren't perfect but let's improve there instead of reinventing the wheel somewhere else.
PS: Dear reader, I'm in no way want to start a war about which distribution is the best, please replace Ubuntu/CentOs/Fedora with Arch, Gentoo or whatever fits your views better. My point is really just about fragmentation and to much things trying to solve the same problem. A little competition is good, but the fragmentation we have now serves no one imho.

Maybe it was simply the Norsca DLC.

Isn't that DLC not due for release until the 24? Why would it disappear now and not then?
Seems like they have been making some programming errors on the site and it wasn't intentionally removed. It seemed a little like Bioshock for MAC wasn't meant to be announced yet but they messed up the UFO and were forced to announce it.

Just to clarify, has Feral actually said Bioshock remastered isn't coming to Linux?
I still haven't seen a statement to that effect. Just the generic, we have nothing to report on Linux at this time.

mmh, what a fool I'm to develop high hopes for Rise of the Tomb Raider.. Though happy for the people that waited for this DLC.

That could still happen as anyone actually asked Crystal Dynamics if they green lit it

That provided absolutely zero additional information. Thanks.

That would be the trademark of Feral. They never answer anything that they haven't announced before. It's *always* "we haven't announced anything about that yet. if that changes ...".

I understand that. That wasn't what I was referring to. I am familiar with the process. I asked whether they had said more than that, like "we will not be releasing a Linux version". Being that the article stated they aren't porting Bioshock rematastered to Linux I was looking for actual confirmation and not the standard "we have no information to give at this time". If you ask them about a port they "are" working on before they authorize confirmation you will get the same type of response, so "which generally means no" is a worthless response. I was indicating whitewolfe80's comment provided absolutely no new information.

They did not. Just the aforementioned standard reply.

I will quote them:
„The Feral Radar got distracted by a herd of geese. We're trying to fix it before it spots the incoming flock of ducks.“
So it is not the Norsca DLC.

From all "clunk, clunk, *thwump*, hisssssss, beeeeeep" i understand there is no close plan to port Shadow of war , No Man's Sky and Doom2016.100% will by some Tomb Raider game , maybe Elite:Dangerous , FarCry , NIER: Automata , Call of Duty.

That said, if the corporate world finally decides on a universal Package format, It'd make our lives easier.
If the "corporate world" decided on a universal package format, you can guarantee no Linux distro would ever adopt it...
Canonical Red Hat and Novell are all corporations, and they set the two major package standards: deb and rpm. The two camps will never agree, but if they would say "We're doing Flatpaks and Debs" Linux will pretty much collapse into those two, with a few minor exceptions.

Y'see, that's weird: you say you're familiar with the process, but then ask if they've said more than that. But as Ehvis notes, the process is they will never say more than that. The closest Feral have ever come to saying "no" is "we haven't announced anything". Kind of frustrating really, but you can see why they do it that way. I guess anything can change at the drop of a hat in the Publishing/Developing world of games.
When was the last Feral release? I'm itching for a new, big announcement! I wish I was into Total Warhammer...

I am aware that in most cases that response indicates a no. But "which generally means no", does not actually answer the question. "They have not, but the statement they released generally means no" would have been an answer to the question along with some additional information which may or may not be helpful (depending on whether the reader is or is not aware of how Feral generally answers these types of inquiries). So yes, I understand the process and understand that the response given was not an answer to the question.
Elvis on the other gave a very helpful response.
