It seems the recent teaser of a new Linux & Mac port from Feral Interactive has seen the two platforms split, with Mac now getting it first.
When the "West Norwood" teaser was first announced, it was shown as coming to Linux & Mac at the same time. Now they each have an entry, with the Mac version due out first.
Now the Linux version is sat in the "Soon" section, with Mac in the "Very Soon" section:
Have you any idea what it is yet?
I have to say it's a shame. Not unexpected though, since Feral now have to work with a different graphics API for Mac. They also likely have two different teams working on Linux & Mac ports, so the Linux team might be encountering problems.
So from Feral: Linux isn't getting Bioshock Remastered, the Total War WARHAMMER 'Norsca' DLC is delayed for us and the XCOM 2: War of the Chosen expansion is not a day-1 Linux release either. Hopefully Feral will step up a bit for us, but I'm sure they have some surprises in store for us yet.
This year they've already given us some really fun games like HITMAN, Shogun 2 and DiRT Rally. I personally hope for some more great single-player games from them!
Thanks to MaCroX95 in our Discord for pointing it out.

I think that can be related with API's.
Since Vulkan is being used on Feral's Linux ports , games were published with both OpenGL and Vulkan because OpenGL is still doing good and most important ; it is more reliable when it comes to drivers. Especially with open source ones. Mesa Vulkan drivers are not there yet.
On the other hand , publishing a game to MacOS with OpenGL 4.1 with it's crappy drivers is really pointless. So probably they are going with Metal only.

Afaict Total War WARHAMMER 'Norsca' DLC and XCOM 2: War of the Chosen are delayed on macOS too, so it's not like only Linux is being let down.Indeed, but the main point is still the same.
Edit: To clarify, about Linux having to wait around (regardless of the Mac position).

I think there is a strong chance by all accounts they were happy with the revenue that TR brought it so maybe

they probably profit more from mac than fron linux, but at least we can conclude that it's a game that still don't have a mac version, and i hope it's something big, the last UFOs didn't take so long to come.

Bioshock Mac and West Northwood Mac have 2 separate entries on the radar, so West Northwood can't be Bioshock. If Bioshock ever comes to linux, it isn't on the radar yet.

I don't know what it is, hence don't know whether to be disappointed. :S:

I doubt that it's anything to do with Metal. Feral are like VP, with their IndirectX layer. You would write this layer to target Metal on the Mac but there is absolutely no reason their existing GL code for Linux would not still be usable.
For Micro Machines, VP used Metal on the Mac because otherwise, the game ran like shit. However the Linux version uses GL because it runs just fine. So, as much as certain people want to blame Apple's Metal, I think it is more likely that it is a licensing thing.
Also, haven't Feral already done Vulkan stuff? If that's the case, IndirectX already has some Vulkan targeting.
Going with either OpenGL or Vulkan for Linux (they do have a Vulkan open beta for Mad Max and Dawn of War III has a Vulkan option built in too) will be additional work for developer, and QA for Linux has to be done too, but that was also the case when they still did OpenGL for Mac.
Maybe Bioshock Remastered also has some middleware that has Windows and MacOS but no Linux support.

Not a dig at GOL at all, but this article is quite funny as a result of the Feral radar. The article can be summed as basically: "A game we can't identify has possibly been delayed by an indeterminate amount of time, pushing back a release date we haven't been told about, but the Mac version of this unknown game, might still be on track, also for a unknown release date".
I'm glad we cleared this up.

For supporting Linux you have to buy a PlayStation and use Sonys Now.
One day Valve will have to react to streaming and they can only can do this on the basis of SteamOS.
Feral have to work economically. If they went bankrupt no one would benefit. Most of my Linux gaming time I have spent in Feral ports, except Minecraft ... ups, Microsoft.
I also love Liam's Linux bias. :)

Talking about a delay without a baseline planning is rather speculative. Eventually the Linux port is exactly on track, but the Mac port is progressing much faster than initially expected :)
I don't mind waiting at all, I prefer quality above quantity.
(Hopefully it's indeed Rise of the Tomb Raider ;))
