We Happy Few [Steam], the game about a drug-fuelled, retro-futuristic city in an alternative 1960s England is to launch in April next year. The Linux version should be on or shortly after too.
Here's their new trailer:
In the announcement they said this:
Emphasis mine.
Also, they've partnered with Gearbox and their price is shooting up as it's "growing in scope". They will be expanding basically everything by the sounds of it and they claim it is "going to be unlike anything you’ve seen". A pretty bold statement, so hopefully they won't disappoint us. Who knows, it could turn out to be one of the best games on Linux next year?
It will be $60 at release, while being a bit cheaper while it's still in Early Access. Phew, that's quite the price increase!

QuoteWe are thrilled to finally announce that We Happy Few will be launching worldwide both digitally and at retail on April 13, 2018, for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4! Mac and Linux will be arriving on or shortly after that date.
Emphasis mine.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Doubling the price does come with expectations. The main thing AAA games are better at are graphics and animation. I'm wondering if they actually get the budget to make that happen.
If all goes as planned, would that be the first Linux release that Gearbox is involved in?

This case isn't too different though, Gearbox aren't developing it. So no, it's not Gearbox first.

I love that Gearbox is in the shadows here. I also love that this game seems to be upping the level to become a full sized, high production value AAA release. I -LOVE- the setting of this game.

I backed this on KS based on the Linux promise. From what I've seen, the game looks and sounds fantastic! Hopefully they can deliver on the promised scope / quality, as well as the on the Linux port!
So far, Compulsion have been one of my best experiences on KS. Communication has been fantastic. I look forward to every weekly update they send. They've been very informative on the whole process of developing the game.

Shouldn't it concern that they don't know when the Linux version will come out?

Well, I'm kind of a sucker for a Shakespeare reference, so I'll keep an eye on it.

It's available on GOG as well: https://www.gog.com/game/we_happy_few
And they said they'll publish some development updates about work on the Linux version, once they'll start it. I agree that their communication is great.

I'm going to assume it will come out on Linux "shortly after", and by "shortly after" I'm assuming 4 or 5 months. That way I'm not setting myself up for disappointment and if it comes out earlier it will be a pleasant surprise.

Sorry but I doubt it will come to linux at all. Watch the developers will change their minds like lot of games that were supposedly coming to linux.

Even after they ported the engine already they didn't made it regarding the Linux port for Divinity: Original Sin 2.
