Well now, it's been quite some time since I asked a direct question to my readers. Here we are once again, as I open up the floor to you.

What have you been playing on Linux lately and what do you think about it?

Personally, I've been testing out Sudden Strike 4 which releases with day-1 Linux support tomorrow. I'm going to be livestreaming a preview of it in about 10 minutes on our Twitch channel. So far, so good and I will have more thorough thoughts on it at release! Remember to keep an eye on the sidebar, as it list the next livestream and this page where you can see our schedule.

I also decided to dive in at the deep end with The Long Dark story mode, but I have to say so far it seems quite disappointing. The story feels a little boring and some of the mechanics have been annoying me quite a lot. I've lost a few campfires that I desperately needed trying to go to the pause menu quickly, but instead it just stops making my campfire — annoying. I will have more thoughts to share when I've finished the first episode, the sandbox mode is great though.

Also, a shout out to the Putt-Putt games, as my son recently completed Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo in an hour, with very little help. He loves it, so if you have kids and they might like short adventure games I highly recommend the series. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Borderlands 2: One of my brothers-in-law and I get together online one night a week to play this shoot-em-up laugh-fest game.

Payday 2: I don't have a problem. I can quit anytime I want to.

3089 -- Futuristic Action RPG: It plays like 5089: The Action RPG, but not as "futuristic," I suppose, but a silly lootin'-tootin' time all the same.

Enclave: I gave up after about a dozen try-and-fails getting through the town at the very beginning.

Half-Life 2, etc.: I played the dickens out of HL2 Orange Box version on my X360 back in da day, but I couldn't catch that old feeling this time around. I fizzled out early on, somewhere on the highway bit.

Meadow: Full of helpful, friendly souls urging me to follow them and do "things" all the while flashing emotes that I found as annoying as they were incomprehensible. I'll go back when I'm in a less quit-looking-at-me mood.

Q.U.B.E.: Director's Cut: Wonderful, casual puzzler. Totes looking forward to Q.U.B.E. 2!

The Fall: A side-scrolling puzzler that I stopped playing because ... I don't remember because. It probably made me think too much.

Life Goes On: The more that died, the more I giggled.

Rust - The feeling when you see a random person and the outcome can be that either you or the otherone looses all its gear. Its intense feeling, no shooter gives this feeling. It also runs really good on my hardware and looks beautiful

Dirt Rally - GOL League is still going on. Still having lots of fun driving with different cars. Specially i like Finland fast roads with lots of jumps.

Transport Fever: That finally became what it should have been in Train Fever. I kinda enjoy building transport networks. It's relaxing.

Mad Max: Almost to the end but then a bad crash killed my savegame and I didn't rotate it for a long time so I sort of lost the fun with the progress. Another day mayhap.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2: Plays fine with Steam Link and is kids friendly so I can play it in my living room while the kids are around.

Honestly, I'm currently playing on wine mostly Guild Wars 2 (my current addict) and Age of Empires II (with my 10yo son, he also loves megaglest).

The games I want to play are either on hold or in a non playable/enjoyable state.

- Planet Nomads (too empty, waiting for multiplayer)
- Two World 2 (on hold)
- Arma 3 (on hold, or may never make it to a stable release)
- 7 Days to Die (I'm giving a break)
- Shrould of the Avatar (too buggy and laggy, I will wait)
- Ark (can't play with my 8GB RAM)
- Rust (same as Ark)

Ark.
That's pretty much the only thing I played this year.

-Deus Ex: MD (completed without killing anyone)
-Dawn of War 3 (completed but still play mp with some russian mac fellow gamers)
-Kingdom New Lands
-CS:GO
-Shogun 2
-Day of the Tentacle remastered
-Shadow warrior 2013 (completed and really enjoyed it)
-Mad Max (for the pleasure of the eyes and hears with perfect 5.1 support)
-Hidden Folks (for my niece, don't tell anyone I play it alone sometime :p)
-Gathering Skies
-Hyperlight Drifter (completed, trying new game +)
-Owlboy (completed, great game but sometime quite hard)
-Jotun
-Botanicula
-Apotheon

-Witcher 2

Being on linux feels greater everyday and I look forward to next feral port.
