Albion Online's "Joseph" update has been given a release date of September 27th and it does sound like a pretty good one.
This big update adds a bunch of notable features, my favourite of which is an Arena battle mode. This is where two teams of 5 battle for control points. If your team wins, you will gain Arena Sigils, which can be redeemed for vanity item rewards.
Thankfully, they're also including some much needed quality of life updates. This will come in the form of overdue UI updates, like an updated social menu, making it easier to invite friends to a party and so on.
An exciting sounding Expedition, the "Three Sisters Expedition" will be released with this update too. You will be tasked with finding a lost Royal Guard suspected of being a traitor. Another new one is the "Eternal Battle Expedition", which sees you battle the undead along with the "Governor" to release him of his eternal duty to defend a city. The Expedition feature is great, I really hope they pump out a lot more of them in future.
I'm hoping this might make it more interesting to me again, as I burnt out so quickly on the grind of it feeling like there wasn't enough to do. This update sounds like a great step in the right direction, that and they finally got their server issues sorted!

Quoting: GuestStill waiting for it to have a bounty of PvE myself, well it may never have that to satisfaction with the heavy PvP focus.
Yeah it's a shame with the pvp focus. Good for the pvp-mmoers out there of course, but the rest of us need to wait a bit longer to get "our" mmo, it seems.

I am not aware of any new major MMO being in active development. Not even for Windows. There are a couple smaller projects, but nothing remotely in AAA territory. And since these things take many years to make, I don't think we're going to see a Linux AAA MMO anytime soon. My biggest hope for a remedy is WINE getting able to run Elder Scrolls Online (again - it used to run win WINE even, but they broke it by removing OpenGL support).
Currently, Guild Wars 2 and Star Wars The Old Republic run very well in WINE, so at least we CAN play AAA MMOs in Linux.

I had such high hopes for Wakfu, which runs natively under Linux, but from what I gather the economy (and ecology!) is a total mess for new players now, and like a lot of games just abandoned the intro stuff in favour of more late-game content. Great design and really interesting combat mechanics, but difficult to get in the rhythm of.

Well, there are some titles on Windows, like that South Korean title I can't recall the name of now, but generally I very much agree that there's not much AAA mmos in the horizon regardless of genre.
I guess Star Citizen qualifies as some sort of mmo... That's one title I am very doubtful CAN be as great as their plans indicate it to be, but IF that happens... Oh man.

We got StarCitizen coming sometime in the future.
Probably 1 year after a windows release.
But the windows is still 1 year from release, so total might be 2 years.

SWTOR is broken in WINE unless you can find an older launcher. I've been waiting for a fix for a few weeks now.
Quoting: ZeloxAnyone know how to run this under Arch/Manjaro. My launcher freezes all the time :(.Mine is busy updating atm, but this seems to work for me:
