Welcome to another glorious sales article here at GOL. Another quick look at some good deals you shouldn't pass up!

As usual, these are hand-picked deals from various places that I think could be worth a look. There's not a lot bigger titles on sale this week, so hopefully one or two of these might capture your interest.

GOG do WB sale. Now. With all the backlash WB gets from the shit they pull with shadow of war. You actually did them a favor by not mentioning it.

I have no reason to mention it, the games aren't on Linux.
Sir_Diealot Sep 7, 2017
Right. There are some other Linux games on sale though.

Well they have one Linux game on sale, one pre-order for a cheaper price and one in development listed. That's it.

Edit: Turns out they also have Bastion on sale, but it's only listed as on sale by hitting the WB sale link. Their store could use a little work.

It sure could.. there have been issues with sales not beginning/ending at the correct time. It seems to be improving overall, slowly... I found out yesterday that I got some friend requests months ago. They made 'friends' more visible. What I miss most is the ability to filter out owned games in their various listings.

Quick question on Humble Bundle games for sale. How can you tell that the game they are selling is available in binary form along with the Steam key?

Only a few hours of deal left, but noticed that Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax was on sale for $2 (86% off) and for Linux. It is an arcade Shoot Em Up and seems pretty decent from reviews and gameplay videos.

Grabbed it for myself.

Also, Bundlestars has Tyranny Archon Edition on sale for 60% off. Tempted, but not quite there. Hehe.

I really want to get the MK 1,2 and 3 from GOG but why is it not available on Linux since it's DOSBOX? Does anyone own these and run them natively on Linux? I do mean these DOS version not any other emulated version.

Hi. I haven't done it with these Mortal Kombat DOS games myself, but DosBox is usually well-behaved under Linux. Below is a guide to using DosBox under Linux:

Yep. GOG don't have installers for many DOSBOX games and then they don't list Linux for that game. DOSBOX is the same on any OS, so you can make it work. You'll need to install the game using wine or extract it (don't know the tools for that) and extract the game.
This is one of the reasons why I wish they'd just ship the raw game as well as installers.

The tool is innoextract and can be found in most distro repositories.

Me too. I wish ROMS were sold and you chose the emulated you wanted to work with. Like the NeoGeo stuff from HB.

I bought it but now I am having trouble getting my Logitech F310 working with the game. Many on GOG are having the same issue on other platforms.

I assume you want a DRM-free download?
Scroll down a bit below the video or screenshot, and check that the Tux logo is there:

Cool. So it has to say DRM FREE and have the Linux logo. Great! Before it use to say binary and steam key on the tooltip.
