The real interesting news about Wine is this patch: https://dev.wine-staging.com/patches/submission/211/

It should be available in next Tuesday's Wine Staging (and if it doesn't make it by Tuesday, I'll publish a Wine build containing this patch on lutris.net)

Wonder if this will help Witcher 3 black texture bug related to d3d11_deferred_context_CopySubresourceRegion

It did ! Great work Witcher 3 plays like a dream now :)
*kewl* :)

I have started to play TW3 on Windows before I changed to 100% on Linux. But I'm not finished with the game and have the savegame files on the disk. Would be nice to whom I could once again put to the use without eye cancer to get (because of graphic bugs).

Thanks strycore, sounds good :)
The mesa-bug is still a show-stopper for me though.
Someone reported a freeze bug "Helium Rain" on discord, could be related.

mrdeathjr,

have you tried Fallout 4, lately?

I don't know if I said this before, but I'm completely in love with the "Penguin drinking wine" icon and I wait for WINE news only to see it again and again! It makes me smile, don't ask me why, I found it very hilarious! :)

Yes, I also have a system-wide hang with the mesa bug. On the Helium Rain game.

Yeah normally DX10/11 progress is more notorious in staging

In my case have a 64bit prefix for lastest apps and this prefix is used with staging

And another prefix for 32bit apps, this prefix is used with vanilla wine

The Witcher 3 is still plagued by the freeze bug on Mesa.

What bug is that?

I ran Witcher 3 in wine 2.15 on a Ryzen 5 1600 + RX 580 and 16 GB of RAM with a decent frame-rate on ultra settings. The only thing that I noticed was that there were still some graphical errors with missing floors around holes in the ground like wells and cellar stairs but they were pretty rare.

Feel free to test, and add your comments there. This bug is completely game breaking for me, so I've stopped playing TW3 until it will be fixed.

I tried the saves from Shmerl @43273. And the freeze is happening
for me as well. I last compiled Mesa on Aug. 19th. , for my RX 460.

I thought may be newer amdgpu from display code branch can fix it, but I didn't try that custom kernel yet.

Can you please comment in the bug with your findings? Developers need some reminder that this bug is still here ;)
