Wine 2.18 is now officially available

By -

The Wine [Official Site] project continues to mature with the release of Wine 2.18 which includes improvements to various areas.

Here's the highlights:

  • Radial gradients in Direct2D.
  • Asynchronous message support in WebServices.
  • Virtual memory write watches improvements.
  • FreeType 2.8.1 compatibility fixes.
  • Various bug fixes.

When it comes to the bug fixes, they've noted 22 bugs have been marked as resolved. These include issues fixed with Mafia 2, Xenia emulator (which still needs more fixes), Uplay and more.

Also, a bug which affected these titles: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Thief (2014), Tomb Raider (2013), Bejeweled 3 has also been fixed.

I'm sure there will be a video or two in our comments soon from the usual suspects to show off how well certain titles now run.
