RUNNING WITH RIFLES [Steam, Official Site], the top-down tactical shooter has been patched. Not only that, but the huge PACIFIC DLC [Steam] is now out too.
The new DLC adds in 2 full campaigns, 7 unique maps, a unique set of historical vehicles, historical arsenal of weapons and plenty more. It's full on content and the price seems pretty reasonable.

I've played the game on and off for some time now and it's damn fun to play. It has a reasonably active community too, but as far as top-down tactical shooters go it might be one of the best available on Linux. Being able to drive vehicles, pick from various weapons and run across huge maps taking down enemies is damn fun.
I still remember how hilarious it was getting in a jeep, driving like a maniac across a bridge as enemy players were diving out of the way, it was glorious.
For people with multiple monitors, it does have one annoying issue - it will give all your other monitors a black screen. Hopefully that will see a fix sometime, but it's not a major issue and can be worked around.
The main game is also 50% off on Steam, with the new DLC at 10% off on Steam.
Quoting: NaibI keep meaning to try this as bits of it remind me of cannonFodder but well ... disappointment is always a riskI suppose there's elements of that in it. In RWR though, you only ever control one person. It's very much a top-down shooter in a somewhat slower pace with a tactical feel. It is fun, that's for sure.
I'm tempted to do a livestream of it tonight, might help you decide then too.
Plus it gets another random game in my catalogue that my kids can pick (they are getting the hang of switching to steam link from the TV)
Quoting: NaibI keep meaning to try this as bits of it remind me of cannonFodder but well ... disappointment is always a riskI love cannon fodder. Still play it with an amiga emulator. I also love this game, but never thought about it being similar to cannon fodder until you just mentioned it. It is very different to cannon fodder while having some similarities.
Anyways you can download the demo on steam and try it. The "Download Demo" button is right above where it shows single player, multiplayer, coop ect. Or this should work too http://store.steampowered.com/widget/288330
EDIT: I am dumb, it has a demo haha.
