Star Traders: Frontiers [Steam], an epic space RPG is finishing up their closed alpha testing for a release on Steam soon. With the release, the game is set to go into Early Access while they finish it.

It's being developed by Trese Brothers, who worked on titles like Templar Battleforce, Heroes of Steel RPG and more. All their titles on Steam support Linux, so it's really great to see this continue! If there's any doubt of their commitment to Linux support, here's what they said on the Steam forum in reply to a question about Linux support:
Absolutely! The game will go live on PC, Mac and Linux on its first day.
We're happy to support Linux with all of our titles.
In their Steam announcement, they talked about how it was coming soon, but it doesn't sound like they're giving out a date just yet. Their Steam page only went live on October 3rd, so they're likely still going over alpha test feedback.
About the game:
Command your ship and crew as a space pirate, merchant, bounty hunter, and more in Star Traders: Frontiers – an epic space RPG from Trese Brothers Games. Venture forth into a massive open universe, rich with adventure and the lore of the Star Traders. Choose your path by assembling and commanding your custom crew and spaceship in a constantly evolving galaxy torn by internal strife, political intrigue, and alien threats. Will you fly as a pirate terrorizing shipping lanes, join the solar wars as a military captain, or track targets across the stars as a fearsome bounty hunter?
Thanks for the tip Tchey!
Curios if the story works well with the branching paths and choices in the open world.
And Darkest Dungeon for crew combat
And, not sure what, for ships combat
And, some 4X/space sim for the galaxy market, jumpgate etc
It's a niche game i would say, and won't please everyone, but it pleases me a lot.
A loved Templar Battleforce, and they are awesome with support (TB got more than 70 updates since released, for free, with fixes bug also content, missions, weapons etc). They do the same for all their games, and i'm very confident they will do so for Star Traders Frontier, their biggest/largest/deepest game so far.
