Since the weekends are generally our quiet time, as I take them to spend a little time with family I'm asking a question: What have you been playing and what do you think?
I've been spending more time than I was expecting in Rust. It's strange really, as it's a game I previously didn't get along with at all and now I'm quite hooked on it.
Not everyone will agree with me on this, but I actually think Rust is one of the nicest looking games on Linux. Sure, there's a good bunch that are better, but there's been many moments in Rust where I have to completely stop and just take in the view. That's in-between all the moments of absolute panic when someone fires shots at me and I have no idea where they are.
I want to share this image I took recently too, from a little meet up we did on our server:
We ended up having some sort of in-game concert and it was rather amusing. What makes it even more interesting, is that community member woox2k managed to hook up some scripts (available on GitHub) to play custom music files in game with the guitars and it was incredible.

Divinity Sins 2, wish it was available on linux. I have restarted 3 times now, due to major updates and or mods / something.
Yeah I have Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, good game. The ending gets a little weird however, I haven't completed the expansion pack but it seems to be mostly a challenge arena type of island thing. Dogma worked under Wine well except for flickering cross lapping shadows bug. (when bushes cast shadows over tree shadows)

The Original Strife Veteran Edition - I started playing this game as a kid @ a friends house but never got to end it. I made it as far as the tavern and began to bust caps in everyone and then got my ass handed to me. Now, I am on the alien ship. This game is excellent. This one has reignited my love of single player FPS games.
The King of Fighters 2002 - 1 v 1 mode - Been playing this game a lot during my lunch breaks with co-workers and @ home with the family. In 1 v 1 mode the game works like traditional fighting games where you only get 1 character instead of a team of 3. This is a great way to explore new characters you've never tried before. Right now I am trying to master Takuma.
Space Pirates and Zombies - With the release of part 2, I decided to dust this game out of my Humble Bundle backlog (I am down to 4 games that need to be played and ended from my backlog). It put a few hours in and I am having some fun with it but I am undecided on if I like this game @ this time. It's engaging but I've not had any 'smiling' moments as is said in my home when one is playing a game with glee in their heart! I can see the moment coming, though.

Tooth and tail. Fun, but I'm absolutely stuck on one scenario and unable to progress further. I suspect RTS games just aren't for me :(

I've been spending entirely too much time in Windows... I just love VR too much. Gotta have my fix.
Went to see the new show in TheWaveVR tonight, also beat Thumper, spending time in Rez Infinite and can't get enough of Rec Room's Rise of Jumbotron. All of these are top priority when I finally get Direct3D working in WineOpenVR. Which will be like, 2019, at this rate. I never realized how little I know about graphics APIs until I stumbled down this rabbit hole. As long as I beat the Win7 sunset I'm happy.

I've played a bit of Dying Light, some Dirt Rally (the GOL league every week and a few of the dailies), and Pillars of Eternity with my wife. I'm really enjoying all of them. Oh, and I've also been playing some Borderlands 2 in co-op with friends. Normally I wouldn't go near a grindy FPS game like this, but the humour makes it all more than worth it. Granted I miss most of it, trying to keep up with friends who are better at shooters and who have already seen it all. 
This game is not easy by the way. I really don't like the freaky buggers who roam at night. They don't seem to like me either. I wonder what I did to make them so angry.

I just got the game recently, and I'm still puttering around the slums, but so far it's been just fine that way on high settings at 1080p. Don't know or care about the exact fps though. VSync is off and Nvidia's full composition pipeline enabled to get rid of tearing.

I am also stuck in one. In the snake's mission in desert for the Civilized. That is why I hate strategy games, where you have limited amount of units. Other missions, where you can just build mills and outswarm enemy are piece of cake. But this one...

Dying Light is still broken for me, even with the mesa fix, game just crashes after the loading screen, no errors.
As a result, I have been playing tons of War Thunder, I am completely addicted to that game. Probably put in at least 15 hours this weekend. With some Assassin's Creed 1 on the PS3, plan on at least playing through the Ezio Trilogy.

Me too. And it runs sooooo wellllll on Linux. I think it's in my rare pantheon of Most Perfect Computer Games Ever. Games that, no matter how old, are still nearly perfect fun to play and in which I can completely loose myself. In that category for me are:
* Rocket League
If it has flaws, I can't name them... I mean, it's crack cocaine for every level of player.
* Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast
Ooozes Star Wars, and light saber combat was never better. The best multiplayer experience I've ever had with other players/teammates online...
* Star Control 2 Melee
Nearly matches Rocket League for, "Just one more game" addiction. The only game I can think of where the weakest unit in sufficiently skilled hands can defeat the strongest unit. Balance between units is supernaturally perfect and why none of its reboots or sequels measured up.
* X-Wing vs Tie Fighter/Tie Fighter series
Still the best space sim flight model without peer. In-game strategy, decision-making, and puzzle-solving have never been matched in the genre.
* Speedball 2 (Amiga)
The Rocket League before Rocket League. Addictive as all get out. You're completely convinced you can master it until you can't.
* Gridiron Football (Amiga)
I may be the only person on Earth who adored this (Bethesda!) sports game from the 80's, but a completely top down, X's and O's (literally) perspective is actually the most fun and strategic way to play American Football. Damn Madden for convincing everyone to go 3D isometric! It's ruined the genre for 30 years!
And the best news is that, thanks to Linux and emulation, I can play them all on my Linux laptop!
