GOG Connect adds more games, act quick

By -

If you want to grab a DRM free copy on GOG of some more games you have on Steam, act fast as GOG Connect has some more.

What is GOG Connect?

It's a way to link your Steam library with GOG, allowing you to grab an extra copy of your Steam games on GOG directly. It doesn't remove anything from your Steam library, but gives you a permanent copy to have on GOG too. It's a really sweet deal that costs you nothing.

Showing up for me now are:

  • Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs
  • Darkwood
  • Hand of Fate
  • Layers of Fear
  • POSTAL: Classic and Uncut
  • SOMA
  • Sunless Sea

A pretty decent selection of games to be able to move over! There might be more, depending on what you own on Steam.

Quoting: pbIt probably only works for boxed copies. I tried the Warband cd-key from steam (*not* steam key, but cd-key from the product page) and it said it was invalid.

Stalker games don't provide cd-keys via steam at all.

Warband is for CIS/Russian territories only. As for the STALKER games not getting CD keys on Steam, looking at the comments it seems that some people got keys for them while others didn't.

Quoting: wvstolzingI keep checking daily for this; if it were possible, I would've liked to carry everything over to GOG.

This is great! Thanks a lot.

Quoting: KelsDo you have to have the games installed for it to pick them up? I own Hand of Fate on Steam, but it says "not found in Steam library".

Next to "No eligible games found" is a button labeled "refresh". Try hitting it. I wasn't getting TWD: Michionne to connect, and refreshing resolved it.

That did the trick, thanks.

Quoting: poke86It got me Observer but GoG doesn't have a Linux build for it yet.

For some reason Aspyr hates GOG. They've still hadn't implemented the patch for KOTOR 2 which Steam version received, besides the native Linux it also included additional features and 4K support.

You can thank Aspyr for this mess.

hmm I'm seeing no available games and also no unavailable games... has the offer expired already? I refreshed, my profile is public, and I've got a few of the listed games on steam
MagicMyth Nov 3, 2017
Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTYou just have to own them and you need to set you Steam profile to "public". Also, you need of course to connect your GOG and Steam accounts for it to work.

Ah nuts. Thats why its been failing on me of late. I forgot the profile needs to be public :'( Thanks for reminding me.
