This is your once a month reminder to make sure your PC information is correct on your user profiles. A fresh batch of statistics is generated on the 1st of each month.

You need to be logged in to see when you last updated your PC info!

You can see the statistics any time on this page.

While we don't currently have a drop-off implemented for old/stale data, it will come early next year. If you want to make sure you're included at any time clicking update without any changes will update the last time you edited them. The drop-off for old data will be done in months, since people aren't likely to change hardware that often.

may i ask what kernel update? 4.15rc is the only one that doesnt work with nvidia without patches. but all the released kernels work just fine.

It might be working by now.

If you "update" your Kernel you will need to wait for NVIDIA to "patch" it so it won't even call XORG properly.

As ArchLinux feeds a new Kernel way sooner than Ubuntu so we need to wait for NVIDIA to patch a driver for Ubuntu

I was fed up with this morosity and sold my old 970 and got a 580!

i use Arch also, and testing repos, never had issues with nvidia drivers :)
thatswhy i asked.. when 4.14 hit the testing nvidia driver modules were also compiled without issues.

edit: i dont install from nvidias website, just arch packaged drivers, which have patches for things like those.

@oldgaro :

Would like to switch to AMD as well ! just have to find a proper deal before pulling the trigger.

That's a very good choice :D I'm using AMD graphics cards for many years now and had only minor problems (and no problems at all since amdgpu was released).
Depending on what performance you need, I recommend getting either a 580/570 8G or a RX Vega 56.
I have a Vega 64 in my machine and on Linux it scores somewhere around a 1080 Ti, sometimes even better, although I'm still using the crappy reference-design cooler.

Can I just say Yes for a year or so. The only thing that might change in at least five years or so is that I will install a DVD-drive...
