If you still haven't taken a look at HITMAN [Steam], now is certainly the time to do so. You can grab it from now until January 5th and get a permanent copy of the first episode set in Paris.

To be perfectly clear, Paris really is yours to keep! From the announcement:

Once you’ve downloaded it, Paris is yours to keep permanently.

Included in the free pack is: the first major story mission from the game, ‘Showstopper’, plus all of the Escalation Contracts released for Paris, the ‘Holiday Hoarders’ mission plus the Paris Challenge Packs and achievements.

If you like it, you can of course contribute to future HITMAN games and future ports from Feral Interactive by buying the rest of the episodes. I think it's well worth it, such a great game! Of course, progress made will carry over if you do decide to upgrade to the paid version.

See the announcement here.

Is the Christmas content avaiable on Linux too over Christmas? Sorry had no time to check. Busy. But I already own this game (and love it).

It doesn't work for me, it says "Preparing to launch %game%" for a while, then "An error occured while updating (app configuration unavailable)"

edit: nvm, it works now

I already have it (It's a really good game), but it's nice to get a GoG copy too.

Did I need to download the entire game to keep it in my library forever? If I try to unistall it when it's at 0% it goes away from my library...

This game's sales model makes me quite confused. Hasn't the first chapter/episode/whatever always been free?

Nope. Originally, you paid per-episode or for all of them.

Then, they made the sort-of tutorial area free.

Now you can get the entire first episode free (edit: for a limited time, but yours to keep).

I like where they're going with this :)

Anyone who already has the entire game has access to the Christmas content whenever they want, it's not just limited to Christmas.

When I first read the announcement I missed the bit where they said epside one was going to be yours forever, I thought it was a bit mean only letting people play it over Christmas.

First Hitman, then Layers of Fear and now Oxenfree (GOG)! It sure is a generous time of the year :)

I've been wanting to play this for a long time, but there's never been any good sale on it. At least now I can play part of the game for free! :-)
