Yet another huge sale is going on and now it's Valve's turn, as the Steam Winter Sale is now officially live.
There's thousands of games, DLC and more on sale. Here's my personal highlights of Linux stuff I think you really need to try:
Hardware
- Steam Link (if you have good networking) - 90% off
- Steam Controller - 33% off
Games
- Insurgency - 85% off
- XCOM 2 - 67% off
- Move or Die - 65% off
- Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun - 50% off
- Rocket League - 40% off
- Oxygen Not Included - 40% off
- SteamWorld Dig 2 - 35% off
What are your personal picks that you think people would be crazy to miss out on? Do let us know your top 5 in the comments (or more, whatever).
You can see all Linux games on sale right here, but there's also our very own Sales Page tracking many stores. The Steam Winter Sale ends January 4th at 6PM UTC.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: EhvisYou can do that through the SteamDB sales page. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but it's not filtering out games I already have on the sales page, ps thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I'd not seen that page before. :D

After you have logged, there is an option under the search parameters "Hide owned games".

I have an Nvidia shield (which I love). It has hardware accelerated streaming (h264 encode/decode) but the host has to run Steam on Windows, which is really disappointing.
Does the Steam Link stream from a Linux Nvidia desktop running Steam? Are all games supported?

I ended up buying Space Pirates and Zombies 2 which is currently 30% off.
g000h mentioned World of Goo and Dungeon Warfare. Both great games and worthy of a look even without a sale. (and Dungeon Warfare 2 is in the works, but not released yet.)
Oxygen Not Included is also a fun little builder game that is worth a look. It is currently in Early Access, but quite playable. They are having regular content updates about every 6 weeks. I'm not sure how much more they are adding, but one example is that they plan on having "advanced research" tasks, but you do not have anything that will let you research past "intermediate" now. They just recently (less than one month ago) added linux support which I have found to be quite stable. BUT... I think it is only 20% off right now... I believe you only qualify for 40% off if you have a previous Klei games purchased already. (Like Shank, Don't Starve, or Darkest Dungeon.)

It works with a Linux host, but not all games work

Quoting: g000hTempting for me (i.e. I don't own it yet) is Salt and Sanctuary, which is at 60% discount.
IMO well worth it at that price. It's like Hollow Knight with Dark Souls style levelling and stats. The platforming is just as intense as the boss fights.

Well, I've just bought Salt and Sanctuary (60% off) and Pharaonic (66% off). Rubbing hands together and cackling.
Addict!!!! - No. You're just a cool person supporting Linux gaming.

I got Torchlight 2 for $4, Tomb Raider for $3, and Portal 2 and The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human both for $2. Trying to decide between Sublevel Zero Redux and Lords of Xulima for the remainder of the $20 gift card. Anyone played either of those two?

A look at my backlog might support your jovial accusation :D
