Balloonatics [Steam, Official Site] certainly gets some bonus points for being unique. A vehicle-based action-packed shooter where you pilot a floating basket will release for Linux next month.
To be clear, it will go into Early Access on February 8th with Linux support as confirmed in their presskit and on Steam directly. Check out the crazy trailer:

It looks silly and quite fun, but I do want to see how it actually feels to play. It will support VR and "normal" non-VR together, so that will be interesting.
About the game:
Balloonatics is an action-packed, vehicle-based deathmatch where you pilot your basket while collecting weapons to sink your opponents.
Throw some floating mines or use your slingshot to launch a box of angry bees at your opponent. Put up shield walls to protect yourself while you strategically plan your next move. Guns are too easy! Let's see how well you aim when you have to account for wind and weight. Collect, dodge, and attack to be the last Balloonatic in the air.
It will have singleplayer challenges, as well as online battles for you to test your skills. With plenty of different weapons to choose from like mines, smoke, shields, slingshots and plenty more.
Can't say I've ever seen a shooter quite like it, but what do you think?
