For those who noticed Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III [Steam] was a bit broken on the NVIDIA 384 driver series, Feral has now fixed it.

After the most recent Linux patch, the Vulkan renderer in DOW III was pretty much entirely broken visually. Everything would flash and it was a bit of a mess. Thankfully it also has an OpenGL option (which I believe is the default), so it was at least still playable for those who encountered the issue.

As of today, Feral Interactive has released a patch that fully fixes the Vulkan renderer for DOW III on Linux. I've personally tested it and it's looking good again.

Now we can all go back to hoping there's a sizeable campaign expansion coming. I do enjoy the game, but I want more of it and a big campaign expansion that adds in more missions and more races is something it needs.

I really need to pick this one up.

There still is that texture regression to fix, isn't there (the one that also affects Deus EX)? But now I'm wondering if it's the driver or the game that should be patched.

Yeap, I can also confirm that the Vulkan Renderer is fixed again with the Nvidia 384 driver. Back to slaying some Orcs then...

The lack of obvious modernised clothing indicates a Warhammer settings, with the head shape more in common with goblins. If it was W40k, however, it would still indicate something other than an ork - more likely a gretchin (grot).

Fair enough , I stand corrected. :)

I've heard that I need a life.

LOL.
Nah.
The Warhammer lore is pretty cool.
I sometimes sit and listen to hour long youtube videos explaining the Chaos Gods , the Emperor , Necrons , Tyranids etc etc.

It's not broken, that's just how it is. A few ports from Feral (and other developers) have per-platform online play. Sometimes Mac and Linux can play together, but not with Windows.

There isn't a single SEGA owned Feral strategy port that supports cross-platform multiplayer. I was hopeful for it until DOW3; but seeing Feral unable affect the development of a game that wasn't out yet in order to make it cross-platform friendly had made me give up. It won't happen. Nevertheless I am fine with existing games.

I've never heard that Orks were shy about killing one another. :D
