Feral Interactive, the absolute monster when it comes to big Linux game ports is asking what you want to see again.

You all know Feral by now, they've ported HITMAN, F1 2017, Mad Max, Dawn of War III, Life is Strange, XCOM, XCOM 2, DiRT Rally and many more seriously good games to Linux. On top of that, they still have an existing teaser up that they haven't yet announced, all we know is that it's coming to Linux.

On Twitter, they asked this recently:

It’s a New Year full of new possibilities! If you could only have one new game for macOS, Linux or mobile in 2018, which one would it be? And why? We can’t promise that your dreams will come true, but the best answers will star in our email newsletter.

Naturally, Feral lurk in our comments, so feel free to post here as well as I'm sure they will be taking note.

For me personally, I would like a new open-world game that I can travel around and sink plenty of hours into. Something to allow time to fade away and forget about all lifes problems.

So—what do you want Feral to bring to Linux next?

I'll just repeat my tweet:

Train Sim World and all of its current and future £20000 worth of DLC.

Why? Car fans have Dirt, ETS/ATS, F1, Grid. Flight fans at least have X-plane. Trains... We have some network management games (e.g. Transport Fever) but no simulators.
Oh, and Dovetail Games are about one hour drive from Feral's office.

Playerunknown's Battlegrounds (also known as: PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS)

Because I want to spend less time watching it on Twitch and more time playing it with my own fists. (You play that game with your fists, right?)

Well, assuming that games such as "Bethesda" and "Rockstar" titles are certainly not available for porting.

I think my most wanted title would be "Rise of the Tomb Raider", since the first game was great and I hate having a game series interrupted. However, in case that game is already a "port-in-progress", since there were hints of that happening last year, then I think I would choose:

"ELEX"

I love Piranha Bytes games, such as the Gothic and the Risen games and ELEX sound like a game in that style only in a very interesting futuristic/magical setting, also open world and offers lots of playing time which all seems very appealing indeed.

..Only one? ..so I cannot suggest all remaining total wars or old games that I grew up with or pubg..etc? ..Ok...only one and a reason then..

-> Skyrim

why?
Introducing bethesda to linux might help them understand what this community really means and what they are missing all these years(high hopes - I know..). Hopefully this new interaction (between bethesda and feral) can bear more fruits in the future (really hope so). its about time we get a game from bethesda.

PS: ..PUBG will have more impact though.. cannot deny that..

Looking at my Steam wishlist my 1st situated game is Okami... and I have already given up on The Witcher 3 but if we are talking about games released for PC on 2018 I would have to choose... no, I can't choose just one. Sorry Feral, will do a short list anyway.

FFXV: Because I love Final Fantasy and it's about time to have open world JRPG on Linux.
Vampyr: Because DontnoD. And vampires.
Dragon Ball FighterZ: Because we all need a good 2D fighting game and keep practising our Kamehamehas in front of the mirror, hoping our hair will turn yellow turning super saiyan (or red or blue)

I would love to have Elex on Linux. I'm a long time fan of the old Gothic games and, to a lesser degree, the Risen games, and I have heard great things about Elex.

Posted this on Phoronix yesterday. Just going to drop it here as well just in case Feral isn't lurking on Phoronix.

QuotePrey (2017) - Played it using Wine which worked pretty good. One of my favourite games last year.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm - Installed Windows (blasphemy, I know) on an old junk HDD and played this during the recent holiday season. It doesn't yet work properly in Wine. The first LiS is already ported by Feral and it's published by seemingly port-friendly Square Enix so it seems like a good candidate.

Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice - Another really good game I played on my temporary Windows install during the holidays. Doesn't work on Wine since it's full of graphical glitches. It's an indie-game running on the Unreal-engine and I suspect the devs might be open to the idea of a port.

Rise of the Tomb Raider - I assume this is the one on their port radar. Instabuy if and when it comes to Linux.

Assetto Corsa - Spent a lot of time with this racing sim before I ditched Windows, and I miss it. Yes, we have a lot of racing games on Linux already, but not in this particular subgenre. The developer is independent but they made a deal with a third party to make the console ports happen. Not sure what their attitude towards Linux is.

There's probably a ton more games I should mention but those are the ones that came to mind right now. I won't even bother mentioning certain Bethesda-published shooters that others already mentioned because Bethesda is Bethesda and thus it's very unlikely we'll see those ports despite all the open source tech used to develop those games.

Quoting: amataiWe were promised it so there is much frustration. We wants to support CD Projekt because many Linux users are fond of what GoG does.

I don't want to support CDProjektRed anymore and I don't do GOG for that purpose. Steam is where I throw my money at - exclusively.

Probably unlikely (Ubisoft), but I would love to have Rainbow Six Siege on Linux... because the game seems to be just incredible in the field of competitive tactical shooter! :)

Nioh also catch my interest and seems to be a good choice for a "Dark Souls" like experience (if it's only Dark Souls III it will be OK for me as well ^^)... :)
